Yeah you can just turn those off. I only get a reminder once a day, just on my phone, not via mail. And it's a silent notification.

But my point was not to sell people on duolingo, my point was to sell people on doing something productive rather than play a silly game.

Duolingo. You can waste time and learn something. There are countless other apps that help you learn stuff.

Then there are others, who want to make the case that Saint Nick never owned slaves and that Dutch history was intermingled with St Nicholas's history, since the Dutch had quite a big role in the creation of slavery. In that case, it would be completely unnecessary to dress up as Moors from the Middle Ages.

In any event, there is now one organisation that still protests the use of Zwarte Piet, some regions do have Zwarte Piet, some others have Piets of all colours, like Rainbow Piet.

So far this race weekend has been a huge letdown for F1. Drivers are commenting on the track layout, attendance is low, stuff like this happens... I doubt this race will be back next year.
