Nah I think the dude is pretty much the worst guy in the world but the couch thing feels weak somehow. Then again I'm not American so I don't really care.
I haven't seen much of the world yet. My dad was set on Germany and later Austria for holiday destinations. When I started going myself I visited Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal. I've also been to Budapest (Hungary), Prague (Czech) and Krákow (Poland). I've been to England a couple of times because of family.
But lately I've been to Portugal a couple of times. I like the Portuguese people, the food, the wine, the environment in general, the ocean... I've taken to learning the language as well.
I prefer southern Europe because a) it's Europe so still familiar but the climate is better, as are the views. But there is still so much to see...
One could argue America was a straight white man utopium in the 20s. After the first World War America was the saviour of the western world. The economy was booming and the capitalist society we know today felt love opportunity and wealth.
But again, this was definitely not the case for everyone.
I think 'the greatest country' really rather depends on the metrics by which you judge these countries. It would stand to reason that the people in the video would see America as the greatest country by metric of wealth, power and freedom (for some). Skating over gender oppression, race oppression, poverty... For some people it would be better to be in America than anywhere else in the world.
And the 20s were not the only decade this was the case. The 50s had many of the same appeal for wealthy, straight white men. And the 80s. Since then it's been downhill.
On the other hand... I wouldn't wanna answer the question what is the greatest country in the world right now. As a European, I like to look at Scandinavian countries as a model for a great country. But I wouldn't really leave the Netherlands for Denmark.
I was a DJ once so I used social media to keep up with artists, venues, promotors et cetera. Out was shocking to see how quickly I went from a fringe character on the scene to a nobody who was completely out of the loop.
At a certain point I just stopped caring and my friends went through the same. Finished college, got a job, bought a house... Life catches up with you.
Slow your roll, there. There's still over a month of summer. And considering how the climate is changing, we can still have nice weather in October.
