  • Bernie is such a good guy. The Dems have done him dirty so many times, they are currently continuing to support many harmful policies but he understands what's at stake and he puts all of that aside to do the best he can.

He doesn't have to do this. He's 83 years old and while his cognitive health is outstanding for his age, someone his age doesn't need to be on this grind for us. He probably won't stop until he's forced to due to his health. I love the guy and it's a shame we weren't given the chance to see him take the presidency.

  • Maybe.

Millennials, zoomers and even gen alpha likely won't be much different. There's a difference between understanding how to use technology and understanding the intricacies of technology, understanding how to regulate or use different functions of it. The majority of boomers know how to use a modern phone. They don't know how to properly take care of the phone nor do they understand how it functions, but they know how to use it. A lot of younger people aren't much different.

  • I've heard people are starting to do this on TikTok as well. I think it says more about us a civilization than anything. This is a clear scarcity/enshittification issue. Everyone wants good value and good quality products. Unfortunately a lot of mom/pop shops that produce those products don't want to expand and if they do end up franchised capitalism's ever growing desire for increased gains ensures that the franchised products only become worse over time.

It's a clear shame to see capitalism pitting people against each other in this fashion.

  • We really haven't had a Presidential candidate with this caliber of speaking ability since Obama.

  • Pretty mainstream. When I was a kid most people struggled to learn how to laugh these things off. These days if you speak on any platform it's a good idea to have some mispronunciations because it catches peoples attention. Even if it's the only thing they'll talk about as long as you're good natured about it you've made progress.

  • I kept trying to articulate my reaction but this is about the best it gets. Oh humanity.

  • I feel that but society has been like that forever. Trust me, it used to be something that frustrated me excessively but I've just come to accept that even throughout history people are just shallow.

  • Maybe.

Walz really is the ideal politician but he might be rough around the edges after 8 years. He already looks a bit older than what he is and I don't consider his speaking to be quite as good as Harris's. It would preferential if we started looking towards building up younger politicians within the party with people like Walz providing support.

  • I'll be completely honest: I don't really know which organizations/movements are doing what these days. There's too much to keep track of. The groups where I am aren't particularly kind though. That's coming from my knowledge of an experience with a family member's divorce, so I apologize for being misinformed.

I just do what I think is right. It's all I have energy for.

  • Absolutely agreed.

Something I used to hear regarding feminism was that it also fought for men's rights even if indirectly for equality purposes. While I wouldn't say it's accurate of the movement now, I will say that it'd be a nice thing for men's rights groups to pick up. If these movements want to be heard then they must be willing to listen to the voices of women and be willing to bring their own to justice.

  • Look, I am a big believer in attempting to educate other people and better the world around you by trying to change harmful or hateful outlooks, but I also realize that some people cannot be changed. Trying to engage these types of people in real life is just putting yourself in danger. Engaging them online is fine but there's a limit to how long you should spend having dialogue with someone who could probably argue their irrational viewpoints for weeks on end without stopping.

  • Oh Shit

  • Not surprising. Israel had the tech to bug everyones phones.

The Israeli NSO group which is a day 1 hacks group developed the Pegasus spyware and found lots of creative ways to get it on peoples phones. They also sold it later on to just about anyone who was willing to pay.

  • He would.

Despite everything he has publicly stated he has continued to offer Israel support. His administration quietly greenlit the attacks and invasion of Lebanon.

As long as our own military is not directly involved as the conflict expands I believe the election prospects will be fine but it still pains me to see this happening.

  • Nah I did that on purpose.

  • I wish I could say this instead of having to schedule my vacation time a month in advance.

  • Doesn't matter. The lovely Christians where I live would throw a fit because most of them want Israel to do even more damage.

  • Reject smart cars because they're collecting your data and it will be used to increase your insurance rates.

  • Damn, I used to watch GB growing up and he was one of my favorites. Loved how even when he was getting his ass kicked on the field you could still see the guy smiling as he lined up for another play.

Fuck man why did you have to do this?

  • Not entirely surprising considering their openly misogynistic views.

Shame so many people use him as a role model, he's very dangerous.
