Sowieso hebben al hun achterbannen een voorkeur voor een rechtse coalitie. (Kan even de bron niet meer vinden helaas.)

Nee, ze heeft het over het "gedogen" van een minderheidskabinet.

Als het echt een middenpartij was geweest, dan had Omtzigt niet van tevoren aangegeven liever een rechts minderheidskabinet te vormen dan met Timmermans te gaan praten.

Ik ben benieuwd hoe gedoogsteun van de VVD eruit gaat zien.

Dat stuk betekende volgens mij helemaal niets. Wat hier volgens mij aan vooraf ging, is dat de VVD-fractie bedacht dat ze eigenlijk niet met de PVV wilde regeren, maar dat "we gaan niet met ze onderhandelen" misschien slecht zou landen bij hun kiezers. Dus spinnen ze het zo, maar "een soort van gedoogsteun" in de vorm van "we onderhandelen niet mee over het regeerakkoord, maar zullen voorstellen in de Tweede Kamer steunen als we het ermee eens zijn" is letterlijk hetzelfde als in de oppositie zitten; GL/PvdA doet bijv. precies hetzelfde.

En door te zeggen dat dat geldt voor een "centrum-rechts kabinet" houden ze ook nog de deur open om alsnog met GL/PvdA te gaan onderhandelen als dat (minderheids)kabinet er niet uitkomt.

Almost nobody thinks this win is the result of fringe extreme elements within Islam. It has more to do with lack of housing, inflation, etc.

Trouwens mooi alvast het Overton-window verschuiven door een eventueel PVV-NSC-BBB-kabinet "centrumrechts" te noemen.

I definitely see a lot of shock in my circles, but personally, I think we'll have to wait and see what happens. It's not a given that they'll form a government, and even if they'll do, they'll have to collaborate with regular right-wing parties, so that limits the "damage" somewhat.

That said, housing is really problematic, and multiple parties have called for reducing the number of people coming here from abroad to study (and then not being able to find a place to live, or having to pay ridiculous amounts to do so). On the other hand, Eindhoven is a very international area, is very dependent on talent from abroad, and will certainly oppose that. The Greens/Labour party received most votes there (though PVV was still a close second), so like in most cities, you'll barely notice the political winds in your personal life, I expect.

Ik denk dat de VVD verwacht dat, zeker zonder de VVD, de PVV, NSC en BBB er samen niet gaan uitkomen. Als die onderhandelingen vervolgens klappen, dan kunnen ze zeggen, "tsja, als het moet, dan gaan we wel met Timmermans onderhandelen, het land moet immers toch bestuurd worden, en anders wordt het wel een erg linkse regering".

It works great in combination with the keyboard shortcuts for opening the first, second, ... eighth tab, which is Alt+1 (or +2, +3, etc.) for me, but I think is Ctrl or Cmd instead of Alt on other OS's.

Also, if they don't manage to successfully negotiate, then a likely next step will be for the second-largest party to get a shot at negotiating, trying to form its own majority together with other parties.

If negotiations keep failing, other options are a minority government, or new elections. But usually, enough parties (i.e. with a combined total of 75 seats) find a way to work together.

Nou ja, negeren. Ik denk dat ze wel coalitieonderhandelingen gaan doen, maar als je er niet uitkomt dan kom je er niet uit. Bovendien zouden die extra stemmen in volgende verkiezingen moeten komen van mensen die nu níet op Wilders hebben gestemd, maar dus wel boos zouden zijn dat hij niet in de regering gaat. Wellicht voor de VVD een risico, maar ik denk dat dat voor NSC een stuk minder een schrikbeeld zou zijn; zij hebben voor de verkiezingen er redelijk op gehamerd geen fan van de PVV te zijn, dus hun kiezers zullen dat ook niet per se zijn.

Die opmerking past wel ook bij in een Timmermans-regering stappen. We gaan het zien.

As I understand it, the blocker has website-specific rules to automatically click the right buttons. For the first release, they've probably primarily tested those with German websites. I assume that if it works well there and they've ironed out most bugs, we can see it roll out more widely.
