Lemmy.one server failure

  • My biggest concern was that there was no way to find information about what was going on. Your Mastodon had no information.

    There was a thread on Lemmy support about it and some people thought the instance was gone forever.

  • Ad and tracker blocking at the DNS level is a solid way to improve privacy right? Whether it be using your VPN's DNS or something like NextDNS.

  • They have reduced AOSP connections to Google domains substantially in the last year. Many are now proxied through their own servers now.

    • I think the average person just simply doesn't care about their privacy.
