  • I wonder what they could do to breath new fire into it (har). It is a fun trilogy to play, for sure, but it also feels like playing a game of its time.

I really miss games like this though. The last time I felt the bridge between games like Spyro and "modern" times (I'm old) was Kameo. Kameo was such a gem and felt like I was playing a newer Spyro, Medievil, or Banjo game.

While we're on the subject, where the heck is Conker?

  • As Troy Wilkinson, CEO of Axiom Cyber Solutions, explains, “Windows always comes in last in the security world for a number of reasons, mainly because of the adoption rate of consumers. With a large number of Windows-based personal computers on the market, hackers historically have targeted these systems the most.”

  • It is wild to me that the money that went for donations after people learned about its struggles is going back into the game. The game has a lot to offer, any game where you can insult someone's birth to do psychic damage does, but I would not have faulted them if all the funds had gone to medical bills.

  • People who dont know better. People still buy Macs with the intention of also playing some games. People also buy familiarity. It serves them in no way to say anything like that. Especially when they got all those sweet sweet mobile games coming there way. Lol

  • Looks fun. If I can give any advice, I would avoid comparisons to other games as that also invites unnecessary criticism.

Also less metal and drums, and more sound effects (like with the kick at the end).

Fleshed out, I would give it a go. There are some public domain creatures you could absorb, like anything Lovecraft.

  • I feel that but there are also so many great games. It's an old tired horse to bring out, so forgive me, but the indie world is very cool right now.

I was more commenting on why people are so aggro to this comment by the Owl peeps though. I could see why they feel they can't accomplish as much, Larian has probably done well for themselves with good game, before better game, prior to glorious game. No doubt though that Larian also took a swing they couldn't afford to miss and that is to be commended, if mostly so I can go without seeing more gaming-related layoffs in my feed.

  • It's weird how aggressive everyone in here is being. As if attacked. Like the assumptions of knowing how things are and having the answer to everything is par the course, but the aggro is really strange. I hope ya'll get some hugs this holiday.

  • I have found that some games like this, sometimes I do really well if only because there is such an established way to do things well that my flailing about catches people off guard. Sometimes not following meta is a shock to expectations. I'll win by sheer incompetence.

  • I recently stopped using this. I prefer paying for things so I know they will be taken care of, but their price increases came without any improvements to the service for a while. If you are okay with paying though, it's pretty good.

AntennaPod is free and has worked well for me so far as a replacement. It isn't as intuitive with its discovery feature, but it works well enough.

  • Arch sounds both wonderful and terrifying. I'm still watching videos to pick a distro but aur sounds like the wild west. I also am not sure how much effort I want to put into creating my own desktop environment. Videos talk about building it all but provide little info on what length of effort and maintenance that will take. Are things more likely to break? I'm unsure and trying to find out.

  • I greatly appreciate the help. So then something like Pop caters more with drivers one may need.

I'm just tying to make sure my step into Linux is a good one. I have only used Ubuntu and Mint a bit and not what I would call extensively.

I was tempted by Arch but I don't salivate at the idea of creating my own desktop environment like others seem to. Hmm. I have my research to do as I had not looked at Pop.

  • As someone contemplating a move, posts like this and many others make me nervous. I have used mint a few weeks for just documents and browsing and had planned it for my main PC. Now you say it isn't meant for gaming?

Sometimes reading about Linux is a mix of you can do anything with anything but shouldn't do anything with somethings.
