  • That isn't really observable to our naked eye though, that's Doppler shift and is the same thing that makes a sound change pit h if it's coming towards you or away from you (think of a siren as a cop car passes you). The Doppler shift, or redshift of stars and other celestial objects is how the expansion of the universe can be observed and measured.

  • It's supposed to be very painless. If I remember correctly your body can't tell the difference between oxygen and nitrogen so you don't have a feeling of lack of air, just continue breathing normally then fall asleep and expire.

  • No one's claiming that Apple was never innovative, they developed the smart phone and helped out computers in the household. However, those years are way behind them and the only thing they do now is find new ways to hoodwink their customers into buying the same thing each year.

  • Yeah, but why would this particular house warrant historical importance? She didn't do anything of particular note. I know you're not arguing for it, but it sounds stupid that nothing was done about it for decades until it was decided to be demolished.

  • Sure, but if it lessens the impact on the climate from air travel and vehicles, then it's a good thing. Especially if they can become reliable and convenient enough that people don't need to have their own vehicles to drive everywhere.
