I live in the pedestrian zone of a semi large German city. There's three grocery stores within pissing distance.
My last flat was a little more remote in comparison but still nowhere near 3km to the next store. I wouldn't be willing to walk that far for groceries tbh. I enjoy taking walks but not with a shitload of food I have to haul all the way home. That's a cycling or public transport route for me.
If I was you I'd take a large hiking backpack or rolling suitcase, walk to the store an hour ahead and then ride the bus back home.
I do the same. I don't have the time or patience to listen to every person on the internet to understand where they're truly coming from. What I meant is if I did I would probably find out that more often than not my initial assumptions were too harsh or otherwise inaccurate.
That setup is not for everyone but if I had to get a new set right now I'd buy a medium sized fridge with a glass door (I already have a small one in my office and I love being able to see what's inside without leaving the door open, the brand is called Klarstein) and a chest freezer. Chest freezers are way more efficient because the cold air stays put when you open them and they're just practical for using all of the available space.
If this triggers someone's PTSD going outside will trigger them a bunch no matter what. Like respect is important but at some point you gotta factor in other interests like artistic/political expression. Plus if you constantly baby people with that kind of mental illness they won't ever get better. And I say this as someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD.
I'm German and as far as I'm concerned the people who want to flee the current US administration are exactly the type of people you want to welcome with open arms.
Well in the event that you have to leave the house at specific times, which I do, I'd say yes it is a negative. Having fun outside with friends or family like going on hikes, swimming in a lake, picnics and such are also significantly less safe during thiunderstorms and yes, I enjoy those activities so it is a negative for me.
