  • I live in the pedestrian zone of a semi large German city. There's three grocery stores within pissing distance.

My last flat was a little more remote in comparison but still nowhere near 3km to the next store. I wouldn't be willing to walk that far for groceries tbh. I enjoy taking walks but not with a shitload of food I have to haul all the way home. That's a cycling or public transport route for me.

If I was you I'd take a large hiking backpack or rolling suitcase, walk to the store an hour ahead and then ride the bus back home.

  • I do the same. I don't have the time or patience to listen to every person on the internet to understand where they're truly coming from. What I meant is if I did I would probably find out that more often than not my initial assumptions were too harsh or otherwise inaccurate.

  • Thanks for testing it in the name of science

  • In Germany they'd charge extra for riding historic vehicles

  • I thought it's some kind of ungodly bong at first. I mean it would be.

  • You can make them yourself using felt, wire and glue. Might not be exactly as effective but better than nothing.

  • Is that a portmanteau made from "arse" and "therapy"? Because I might be interested.

  • I've had three tuxedo cats in my life and they were quite energetic but also very clingy.

  • Slurps from Coke bucket

Sticks entire head into KFC bucket

Rinse and repeat until coronary arteries are plugged shut

    "Murica"

  • it’s totally fair to judge someone

    rarely

  • That setup is not for everyone but if I had to get a new set right now I'd buy a medium sized fridge with a glass door (I already have a small one in my office and I love being able to see what's inside without leaving the door open, the brand is called Klarstein) and a chest freezer. Chest freezers are way more efficient because the cold air stays put when you open them and they're just practical for using all of the available space.

  • The very idea that someone needs to follow a "non-offensive" guide in political commentary is very much a part of how the us is in the mess it is.

I stifled that thought earlier but yes

  • If this triggers someone's PTSD going outside will trigger them a bunch no matter what. Like respect is important but at some point you gotta factor in other interests like artistic/political expression. Plus if you constantly baby people with that kind of mental illness they won't ever get better. And I say this as someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD.

  • I'm German and as far as I'm concerned the people who want to flee the current US administration are exactly the type of people you want to welcome with open arms.

  • Signature look of defeat

  • Patience. They'll see the inside of that place soon enough.

  • Well in the event that you have to leave the house at specific times, which I do, I'd say yes it is a negative. Having fun outside with friends or family like going on hikes, swimming in a lake, picnics and such are also significantly less safe during thiunderstorms and yes, I enjoy those activities so it is a negative for me.
