Just wanted to chime in and say I personally found Gnome thoroughly underwhelming for a touch screen. Like you'd think it's a good fit but it's just janky in practice. I've had much better success with KDE. In the Plasma 6.4.0 changelog they specifically mentioned that they have touch based devices in mind. I feel like with Gnome it's more of an afterthought.

I genuinely already have a few in the pipeline for if a country drops nukes. Can't be caught empty handed.
