  • Sorry OP, but this looks sad and horrid.

  • That just sounds like a list of things to say to have plausible deniability.

  • I played badminton with a friend and their girlfriend a few days ago. Guess in HK that'd pass as a euphemism.

  • It's been a while since I regularly used a car, but I remember the automatics my father had having some sort of logic that shifted up when driving at a constant speed, than back down when wanting to accelerate.

Now those where fancy pants Systems (I think they called them 7G-Tronic), but this was also over 10 years ago, and such logic doesn't strike me as overly complicated, so I'm surprised there's current cars with static shift speeds.

  • I get called like once or twice a week, and it's usually something time sensitive or important. Always found people just flat out refusing to answer the phone crazy.

  • Women are so cute and I don't think that that's the thing making me a bad VP pick.

  • That's just normal fan design to make sure the motor has maximum torque on startup.

  • Don't think the UK has the potential for redicolously high damages that exists in some US states.

  • Yeah, cheesecake would be nice. Anyways, the problem here in Germany is that letters are still used for most things that are in any way official, we still don't have that whole e-government thing you got over there.

  • In Germany, you can just put a little sign on your letterbox that tells the post person to not give you any free newspapers or mail.

Only ads I've gotten in years where the ones directly addressed to me, and that's like every few months from one of two slightly old fashioned firms, and tends to include a voucher, so that's something.

  • If I remember correctly, the app was originally built by an Australian public broadcaster and then sold to WordPress Matt, so yeah.

  • Well, I'm still using a Ryzen 3000 chip. Maybe I should go Intel next time. Oh wait, those are currently corroding from the inside. Guess I'll just stop using computers.

  • Oh, yeah, wait, I am using AntennaPod too. The subscription stuff was actually the reason I switched from Pocket Casts. Mixed up the names. I'd claim old age, but I'm not that old yet, really.

  • Many modern podcast solutions seem to be injecting ads into the audio file they serve, to varying degrees of success.

  • I listen to several ad supported English language podcasts, and most of them seem to have difficulties with Pocket Casts AntennaPod, or some other part of my setup. The only ones that do get ads placed are the ones that use Spotify Megaphone for their backend.

  • There is a paid version of pocket casts?

  • What if?

  • YT App patched with revanced still works for me, and the app uses less battery for me than the browser version. Privacy wise, the browser is presumably better, though.

My home page looks the same either way, though.

  • Yeah, that's a bit of a hike, probably would throw my plans for the week.

  • That does sound fun. How far from Berlin are you, in rough terms? Can I walk over, or is it more of a cycling distance?

  • Also, to touch on the other questions in the post, I have an Apple Music Subscription, but do have about 50 GB of flac files of my favourite music mirrored to most of my devices, in case I'm holed up somewhere without Internet access.
