  • Could be neurodivergent. I've ADHD and it's an executive dysfunction disorder and I go through periods where I get really into a specific thing for days, I've definitely experienced hyperfixation on things like milkshakes or waffles, my current food fixation is cheesy chips because I've been unwell and haven't had any for a long while.

  • I'm bi or pan or something along those lines and I don't fit stereotypes either. When I came out to people at 17, the usual reaction was disbelief then followed up by questioning (being asked how did I know?) basically people were asking how sexually active I was. So now I wear pride bracelets or necklaces to show people I am out and proud.

  • It's not just the police that get on like this. I was in a and e all night in Belfast over a month ago and there were a couple homeless people in. One guy fell asleep on the chair and then fell onto the floor so the nurses kept checking on him after several hours of the guy going back to sleep on the floor, two security staff came over and started giving him abuse and psychically moving him about so another homeless guy tried to intervene telling them not to manhandle the guy on the floor. The two jobs worth security guys didn't like that so then they got nasty with the guy that intervened. The two homeless guys ended up walking out about 6 in the morning. I was sitting beside a couple who were disgusted with the actions of the security guys which was nice to see.

  • My brother is 26 and his gf is a similar age. Because we're on the other side of the world they've a long distance relationship but he traveled there last year to spend a few months with her. They talk basically all day on a Saturday and Sunday as he works during the week. There's nothing creepy or pedophilic about him yet that's clearly the assumption that would get made when despite being around the same age. And yes I have seen what his gf looks like and she speaks to the rest of the family sometimes too.

  • Not sure how similar this is but the guy that bullied me in secondary school for 5 years is now a professional boxer and as I'm from a small country his name and picture comes up on the news sometimes. The first time I saw an article about him it made me feel miserable as it brought back how he made me feel miserable like I hated going to school because of him. Now I have blocks set up so I never get a recommendation for articles involving him.

  • Ai is definitely making things worse. When I was at school there was no tool for creating a deep fake of girls, now boys sneek a pic and use an app to undress them. That then gets shared, girls find out and obviously become distressed. Without ai boys would have to either sneak into toilets/changing rooms or psychically remove girls clothes. Neither of which was happening at such a large degree in a school before as it would create a shit show.

Also most jurisdictions don't actually have strict AI laws yet which is making it harder for authorities to deal with. If you genuinely believe that AI isn't at fault here then you're ignorant of what's happening around the world.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/feb/29/clothoff-deepfake-ai-pornography-app-names-linked-revealed That's an article about one company that provides an app for deep fakes. It's a shell corp so not easy to shut down through the law and arrest people, also hundreds of teenage girls have been affected by others creating non consensual nudes of them.

  • Went to a and e 5 weeks ago. Also I've had a specialist nurse in charge of my care for 3 years now who I've already heard from since I went to a and e. Also heard from her again on Monday with a follow up. There's a plan in place so it's not like I've sat on my fucking arse doing nothing and I don't live in the US so healthcare is actually free so I went to and e when it first got bad. But thanks for the "advice".
