  • Yep. I've IBD and i can't ear onions, garlic or even veggies in general unless they're boiled really soft as they fuck with my gut but I can eat a donut ok and would be encouraged to because of the sugar in it. Most people wouldn't tell me to not avoid veggies unless really soft as most people think fruit and veggies are great as they're healthy but the the care team I have which includes a consultant and a nurse who specialize in my disease have to me nope.

  • Hardly. They're using us to refer to modders which are thousands of players. How the fuck would you write a sentence that includes a group and mention that they've done something that negatively impacted said group?

I really fucking hate how quickly some people on lemmy call others entitled.

  • Little while could be a long while for some mods and maybe never for others. I wouldn't be surprised if some mod developers don't go back and fix it if they had moved on to other projects. These mods will be years old and anything that uses the script extender will have advanced features to it so they're not a 3 minute quest mod using only existing assets found in the game itself.

  • Now I've had a flare up of ulcerative colitis for most of the year and I was in hospital about a month ago and discharged after 6 days which was a month ago. I'm now back in hospital because my disease didn't improve at home and now it looked like I was responding to the treatment in hospital but things are going they way they went after I was discharged so fuck knows what they'll do. I've a specialist nurse in charge of my general care and a consultant who calls the shots on the treatment. The nurse wants me on a medication that's taken as an IV ASAP and the consultant wants me to take the previous prescribed medication that hasn't worked despite working in 48 hours according to the manufacturer. So as the current treatment probably won't work I fucking hope that the consultant don't just decide "eh fuck it, let's just open up his bowel and give the fucker a stoma bag"

I'm not in the US by the way I'm the UK and the NHS where I live is actually pretty good and the staff in general is great I'm the hospital I'm in and my nurse is great. I just don't really like my consultant as any time he's seen me in hospital it's only for a minute asking how I've been and then he fucks off. It's like he's not interested in really finding out things in depth whereas the nurse and I will discuss things and she'll explain why certain foods are harmful for me during a flare and how to work around that and she'll explain the medication I'm on.

  • Same with the people who are quick to jump in and say that they'll take traitors out. If you've a family or kids there's no way you're fucking risking your life and leaving your family to mourn by playing wannabe freedom fighter. And those that don't have a family and live in a basement would be too much of a pussy to actually go face to face with a mob or a military or a pseudo military like the cops.

  • Don't know if you know this but Hippocratic oath is a) voluntary and b) not enforceable for people who work in medicine. Also the Hippocratic oath came from medics treating enemy soldiers on battlefields. The idea being that a medical professional wouldn't refuse to treat someone because the patient they're treating clashes with their personal beliefs. Modern example being a Christian nurse or Dr refusing to treat a gay patient.

  • There's already a sequel planned and being worked on plus a multiplayer game set in the control universe where you play as a ranger of the fbc. And the Lake House Alan Wake 2 dlc will focus on the fbc office in bright falls as that's where the where investigating cauldron lake from.

  • The game's maps are like walled areas of differing sizes so don't expect open world or a sandbox. The cities are also walled and they differ in size so be prepared for that. I remember being disappointed with one city that's built up and getting to it and finding out it's about the same size as some others and there wasn't much side content or exploration. The game's writing is great and I think there's various endings but I only played it once. There isn't any romance with the companions but they're well written l, there's one in particular whose storyline I really appreciated as a queer person. Hope that isn't a deal breaker for you as some Gamers have issues with things like that.

Overall I enjoyed it, just never felt like I needed to replay it like a Bethesda game, I play those once and do the things I want in it and move on.

  • This was my point with my WWIII comment. It would be WWIII because everyone will nuke everyone. That'll fuck things globally. I'm not even in England and if the UK gets hit I'll either die in the radiation spread or have to suffer through an irradiated atmosphere. Same with Europe, countries not in NATO but situated near France for example (I admit I don't know if Spain or Belgium is a member but I doubt Andorra is) would be affected the same as well. The results of a war between Russia and NATO would be completely catastrophic and it's crazy to me that some people would like to see it just to get rid of Putin.

  • My dad has insurance through his work that I could buy the house I grew up in as the money would buy left to my brother and I. It still wouldn't make up for losing the only parent I still have alive and with his health problems I dread that day. I'm also only 27 and lost my mother about three years ago and my parents aren't old my mum was only 54. My dad's 56, 57 later this year.

  • I disagree. That's like going after journalists/reporters because the huddled outside a senators house because he/she caught in a scandal. Because it's a group, you could argue that's intimidation too except that they're asking questions in the public interest. Protesters whether you agree with them or not believe they're acting in the public interest too and are trying to change things for the better.
