  • Speaking of the state of piracy, how is the state of piracy on Linux? I usually only do that stuff on Windows, I've never tried installing Repacks and such on my Linux machines.

  • In my old laptop, Windows updates used to cannibalize my AMD graphics card driver literally every time.

  • Yeah I tried actually joining a Foundry game because my friends wanted to use it instead of Roll20 for our next game. We only really played two sessions on it amd it was an absolute nightnare, so many technical problems that it completely soured the experience. The first session had a TWO HOUR delay because the thing wasn't working and had to install a bunch of addons, and then I had to install a different browser because it didn't want to work with what I had at the moment. Pissed me off, ngl.

  • I haven't played on my Switch or really touched in in a few months now, since around the Yuzu news. I'm too disgusted by them to want to do it, and shortly before that, I had decided to mod it and not buy their games again. Now I'm 100% certain I'm going to do that. If I really want to give money to some indie game I like, I'll buy it on Steam.

  • They wanted to get pickes up in a billionaire acquisition by some Arab group. But the deal never happened and they ended up with billions in debt instead.

  • I have never used Arch but I have had SEVERAL FUCKING TIMES Windows comppletely fuck up something in my system through updates. Thankfully it hasn't happened in my latest machine running Win10, but in my laptops one ofthenm literally died trying to upgrade versions, and I had to block ut from ever attempting it again.Nowadayas that same laptop is happily running Mint and testing Fedora.

  • I actually had that realization yesterday. At this point I hope they keep doing it and making Win11/worse. I'm not moving out of Win10 and I have Linux on all my other PCs, and this should push more people into Linux too.

  • Can we go back to when every technology was just weaponized instead? No? This is somehow worse.

  • And not being able to log into my own fucking machine if I lose internet access, or if Microsoft servers are on fire? Absolutely fucking not.

  • Linux Mint. That's always the answer. It's lightweight, it's simple, it's easy, it does what you need. Even gaming. SomeOrdinaryGamers did a vidso on YT about installing it, it's pretty easy!

  • I remember when U-G used to be good. You just downloaded the user submitted tabs and there you go. Now thing thry have are ASCII charts from 2010 and ads.

Songsterr is much better now, even if most of it's tabs are suspiciously similar to the same user submitted guitar pro files I remember from back in the day.

  • Pulstar, Blazing Star, all other Metal Slugs. I'd say most of the KoF titles but I think out of these listed here only XIV has rollback netcode so the others might be iffy to play online (wink wink Fightcade) Anyway if you just want the best ones, I'd say KoF '98, 2002 and XIII.

  • Go back to Reddit.

  • Oh good I had just checked them this week and aaw that they were coming back soon.

  • Ohh I'd love to ask you: which emulation handheld you think provides the best arcade emulation experience for vertical shmups?

  • I'd copy my Doom and Quake folders, hoping the modern sourceports still work on them. Well, PrBoom+ and ZDoom should both work. Then all my emulators up to the 32-bit era, some music and the seasons of Kamen Rider and Ultraman that I'm currently watching.Honestly I could just bring my actual external hard drive or my HP laptop from 2013 that I installed Linux on. It's what I got on those.

  • Yes, all of their games in the past few years or so have DLCs like that. What I'm actually worried about is some of their games the MTX aren't irrelevant like these. Monster Hunter has been getting more and more of these with each new release since World and I'm scared of what they'll do with Wilds.
