  • Lower power density, higher cycle life, safer. Sounds good for stationary power storage.

  • One with white cone speakers

  • Getting out of hand? They've been out of hand for a while.

  • It's not even "tracking down". It's public information that is easily searchable. It should be easy to stay 2 steps ahead of these groups planning things out in the open.

  • On Facebook... So there's a clear trail of who is planning what and who is agreeing to go along. People with long histories of posting far right content, so when they inevitably cry "but a leftist plant orchestrated all this" there is evidence to the contrary.

  • Yeah, do it. Quit being a consumer of mixed source power, start being a producer of steady, good energy.

(Dirty enough that calling it clean green energy gets pushback, but far better than non-green normal sources like coal or natural gas.)

  • Interesting tractor with handlebars. Ultra utility ATV?

  • I'm guessing that it can run multiplayer Doom with ray tracing turned on.

  • Fake the confidence, do not fake the preparation.

  • They would have to check the entire room as best they can before they start smashing things and sorting through the rubble... Hmm yes, 12 hours is not too long to give them.

  • I'm surprised how often Bing gives the picture a gun when you don't directly ask for it.

Armed guards - no! Too dangerous!

Bodyguards - ok, here are some dudes with big assault rifles and pistols

  • It seems to be a soul-crushing job. Better to give it to the bots who have no soul.

  • They have unlimited time and money on to put the place back together. The only incentive they have to avoid tearing things apart is that finding the paperclip early in the day makes a short day for them, and bragging rights.

  • They'd have to stay within the home, but they do have 12 hours to check through things. So, they cannot empty the things to the outside, they have to sort through things inside. I guess that eliminates the xray idea.

But a metal detector and 12 hours time would put the odds in their favor.

  • Eh, the crew would undoubtedly gather up all the paperclips they find and one would start verifying the clips one by one while the others search. If you win, the piles would be smaller but you would still have to search through the piles they didn't get to in order to prove your victory.

  • I think they'd tear the entire house apart trying to find that thing. There's a small chance someone would notice paper clips on the Brittanica and start checking for more. Whether they find it depends on whether they have access to x rays or a metal detector.

  • My previous experience is reddit, and I've found Lemmy to be far more positive, with exceptions.

Interactions with mods here are far less demanding and nitpicky. It's more like interaction and less like being told off.

Interactions with other users vary, but I'd say it is a net positive experience here. On reddit, other users were a net negative.

The exception is the reaction when you disagree with the consensus built up between a post and its comments. Whether it's reddit or Lemmy, you're going to have a bad time.

  • Hmm. I think tearing down all the drywall would be a logical step for the investigator, given that they have extra help. I think they would find it within 12 hours.
