I agree but just want to mention the DOJ did try to prosecute, it was Trump’s judge that delayed the case. The DOJ was moving forward on the case the whole time while managing all the cases for the other insurrectionists and investigating the thousands of people involved.

He literally built a case and tried to prosecute. Trump and Trump’s judge delayed the case. The DOJ was consistently moving forward while managing all the cases against all the insurrectionists. There were thousands of people involved in the January 6th insurrection all of which had to be investigated because going after the most powerful person in the country is not something you do half cocked.

Clearest example is choosing not to prosecute Trump to the full extent because it might’ve “set a dangerous precedent”.

This is a strawman. Trump hasn’t been prosecuted because he has used his cult to escape justice time and time again. Scapegoating democrats for Trumps actions is a crazy level of gaslighting.

There is no politics without corporate influence anywhere in the world. Even without citizens united businesses will try to influence government. Same with military. Trump is filling every office position with billionaires and foreign actors and your trying to pretend both sides are the same. If you wouldn’t pardon your own son in the same situation then you’re a shitty father. Any damage done by any administrations will effect all administrations. Democrats have passed climate change legislation while the GOP denies it’s existence and you claim they’re the same. Inflation has been trending down for the past few years but will now start going up again because of tariffs thanks to Trump. But you claim both sides are the same in bad faith.

Biden didn't weaponize the DoJ. At no point did he use it to attack opponents who hadn't committed crimes as decided by grand juries.

That was my point. The only thing Biden can do is fire the attorney general and threaten to replace them with an attorney general that will do his bidding. That is the only way Biden could control or be “in charge” of the DOJ.

During Trump's trials he was, at least publicly, hands off and let the AG do his thing.

If Biden were to use his position as president to control the DOJ by threatening the attorney general, he would be normalizing Trumps actions of weaponizing the DOJ.

Don't confuse Biden giving his son a pardon after conviction with Nixon firing multiple AGs until he got to one that was fine with him being a literal criminal and Trump trying to find one (and succeeding) that wouldn't release a report on how Trump is corrupt.

Not sure why you’re saying this. The person I responded to before you responded to me claimed Biden is in charge of the DOJ. I pointed out that he wasn’t because as we’ve both pointed out, the only way Biden can have any control over the DOJ is by replacing the Attorney General with someone that will do what he says. The same way Nixon and Trump did.

It didn’t work because republicans convinced voters to “stop socialism” by voting for Trump. Because Joe Biden’s “radical leftist” policies were responsible for inflation.

If voters wanted someone more progressive then they would’ve chosen the most progressive candidate. But they didn’t.

They worked with never Trumpers to get more republicans to vote democrats instead. To pretend you don’t understand that is a bad faith argument.

Not just Nixon, if I remember right Trump tried to do something similar to stop the Mueller investigation. So why would Biden want to normalize weaponizing the DOJ like that?

The only people who consider Biden “in charge” of the DOJ are people that want to normalize Nixon’s and Trump’s behavior.

The Democratic Party has been moving further left ever since Bernie started working with them. Even with that small movement to the left voters turned out for republicans to “stop socialism”. And many progressives didn’t show up to vote because Harris wasnt far enough left.

The majority of people fear change. If the progressives aren’t willing to vote for the lesser of two evils then the larger of two evils will keep winning.

In charge of him in what way?

A progressive would never win in my part of the country. But moderate democrats have.

The way so many people are shitting on democrats the GOP will keep growing in power even if they weren’t fascists.

This is the obvious answer. Biden treated the situation as if his son would be treated the same as any other citizen. Instead they threw the book at him because he was the presidents son.

Why trust the system that lets Trump off the hook.
