  • The Talos Principle 2. It's a cerebral, first person puzzle game by the makers of Serious Sam. The first one was amazing! One of my favorite games. The reviews make it sound like this one is at least just as good. It's not even that old and already 40% off.

  • I vaguely recall them getting consecutively better. Not that Sundiver was bad, just the later books were better. It was sometime ago, so I don't remember a whole lot of story beats, just spaceships piloted by dolphins hiding under water, and intelligent chimps talking about their weird sex rituals. I tore through them pretty quickly and never really considered a re-read.

  • Hangul Word Processor. It had (has?) an updater that would pop up ads in the taskbar. Unfortunately the developer, Hancom, is so in-bed with the Korean government, it's mandatory software in many Korean workplaces. Korean support has gotten much, much better in every other word processor, it's hardly necessary anymore.

  • I've been a hobbyist musician for the past twenty-something years. I got up the courage to release everything on Distrokid a couple years back. I've gotten 11 million listens! Which gets me about $40, but who gives a shit? People actually listen to my music. And not just the poppier stuff, some of my more popular tracks are the outre noise experiments. I thought I didn't care about that until it happened.

  • Metroid Dread, Stardew Valley, and Baldur's Gate 3.

The former on Yuzu's last build on a nice 32 inch monitor with a big controller that doesn't cramp up my hands. It's pretty hard, but I did just get past a part I hear a lot of people quit on, so there's that. I can't imagine trying to play it with Joycons. I'd probably snap them in half.

  • You wanna believe I downloaded it as soon as this was announced. Been playing some Metroid Dread on a 32 inch monitor with a controller that doesn't cramp up my hands the past couple of days. Thanks for giving me the push I needed Nintendo! I might have just been happy with my Steam library instead.

  • My headphone pads on a pair of Sony MD7506 were fraying apart, so I bought a pair of $3 replacement pads online. While I was buying those, I noticed a nice looking $30 pair made of sheepskin leather. I bought those, too and figured I'd just use the $3 pair until they inevitably wore out, and then switch to the nice ones. Well, it's been some time now and the $3 pair are apparently far more robust than their forebears. The sheepskin remain in their packaging untouched. One day..

  • I had a dream a few nights ago. I was a robot living in a society being taken over by this evil regime that was turning robots into humans. The leader of the regime lured me to the location where they were going to make me human. When he was dramatically revealed from behind the curtain - a split second after I realized I'd been tricked - he started towards me, and I kicked him in the junk as hard as I could!

Which was when I woke myself and my wife up because I'd kicked the shit out of the wall next to the bed. My big toe still hurts.
