  • I think Phil like most executives prioritise whatever they think will be best for their career, regardless of what their preference is

  • Wrath of the righteous runs pretty poorly in my experience, no really playable without a graphic cards. Kingmaker works better though

  • Eh, CA pretty much aced their DLC strategy for warhammer 2. It's with Warhammer 3 that they fell of a cliff. And three kingdoms barely got any DLC before getting cancelled.

  • Nothing stops you from busting your games on other platforms when available. I always choose GOG over steam personally. What cut they take from publishers isn't consumers' concern.

  • The race of men is capitalised, so man=male and Man=the race.

‘Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!’ Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel. ‘But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Éowyn I am, Éomund’s daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him´

Notice the lack of capitalisation in Witch-King's quote

  • TL;DR penny-anna is wrong, man/men refers to males, not the race

Tolkien capitalise the m when speaking of the race Men. "Man" refers to the race of full sized humans and "man" refers to a male.

    Chapter Treebeard:

‘We always seem to have got left out of the old lists, and the old stories,’ said Merry. ‘Yet we've been about for quite a long time. We’re hobbits.’ ‘Why not make a new line?’ said Pippin. ‘Half-grown hobbits, the hole-dwellers. Put us in amongst the four, next to Man and you've got it.’

Man is capitalised as they speak about the race of men

    Chapter Shelob's lair:

But that desire was yet far away, and long now had she been hungry, lurking in her den, while the power of Sauron grew, and light and living things forsook his borders; and the city in the valley was dead, and no Elf or Man came near, only the unhappy Orcs.

Again, they speak of the race

Chapter The Battle of Pelennor Fields (Witch-King speaks of his prophecy):

Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!

Man is not capitalised as the prophecy was about males, not the race of men, which is a category Éowyn would have fallen into.

As summarised in the 50th anniversary edition :

... The result, nonetheless, still includes many variations in capitalization, punctuation, and other points of style. Not all of these are erroneous: they include words such as Sun, Moon, Hobbit, and Man (or sun, moon, hobbit, man), which may change form according to meaning or application, in relation to adjacent adjectives, or whether Tolkien intended personification, poetry, or emphasis. His intent cannot be divined with confidence in every case. But it is possible to discern Tolkien’s preferences in many instances, from statements he wrote in his check copies of The Lord of the Rings or from a close analysis of its text in manuscript, typescript, proof, and print. Whenever there has been any doubt whatsoever as to the author’s intentions, the text has been allowed to stand.

  • Never been a fan of evasion being able to nullify aoe damage. You can't just evade the fire that's engulfing your entire body. Should be quarter damage rather flat out zero damage.

  • It's the highest grossing media franchise of all time, what sort of question is this?

  • Environmental flatness isn't really tied to the game mechanics/rules though. Larian are just using a better engine with a larger budget than their competitors

  • I guess people just have different preferences. To me, the chaos of DoS turned rather monotone. You could get rich by betting that every combat encounter would end with half the map on fire. It was a real issue that Larian fixed in bg3 thankfully.

And have you payed pathfinder wrath of the righteous? In my opinion, the combat experience is better than DoS 2 and bg3. I will say that I enjoyed the freedom of movement in DoS 2 though, it made positioning a core part of the combat.

  • They'll probably work on another divinity game, but I'd love them trying out a game based on pathfinder.

  • Poof and suddenly your barbarian is a turtle. No need to harm them.

  • I fail to see how this applies to denuvo creating software to make it easier to identify leakers

  • I don't see what that have with ip laws to do, and pc gaming for the most part do not have service issues.

  • In what way is protecting your game from piracy related to a broken ip model?

  • Black Mesa goes beyond being a simple HD version of HL1, the xen world is brilliant in Black Mesa

  • Which tracks perfectly with the meme if you read it again

  • Favourite is a strange term to use about companies, but in terms of how interested I would be if all I was told it was a game from X, it would likely go like this.

    1. Valve
    2. CDPR
    3. Guerrilla Games
    4. Naughty Dog
