  • It hasn't stopped people from thinking that "communism" is a synonym for "bad".

  • France also has St. Pierre and Miquelon that shares a border with Newfoundland.

  • I know it isn't needed, but it seems odd how many people I know have not received their voters card.

After the election was called I went and checked my registration info and made sure it was accurate. Still didn't get anything.

  • We're just poking for a bit of fun. The Free and Open Source rabbit hole goes very deep. For example, Intel and AMD processors have code on them that isn't free meaning the purists will not use them unmodified.

Everyone has a threshold where privacy and freedom interfere with convenience, just stick with the level you're comfortable with.

  • I unfortunately understand that but it's more that the headline is using the "non-answer" for their question.

"Are you the right leader for the NDP?"

"I am absolutely the right leader for the country"

Title: "Singh says he is the right leader for the NDP"

I suppose it could be a good way to combat their non-answers by using it literally to quote them and make them look dumb.

  • Singh was asked if he’s still the right leader for the party.

“So if you want to defend health care, I’m your guy. I’m the only one that’s committed to defending health care, fighting back against privatization, not letting people profit off the pain of Canadians,” he said.

Singh said both the Liberals and Conservatives are proposing cuts to federal spending [...]

Either the question was asked poorly or he didn't understand because he clearly was not answering the question that was asked.

  • I've got bad news for you, this wasn't from RvB.

Your statement is still true independent of the image, however.

  • I was expecting something like version 0.112 but this is pretty close.

  • I'm sure "pixeld" would be pronounced like "pixelled" but when I saw it my immediate thought was "pixel dee".

While I do like the "pixelled" pronunciation, I think "pixelfed" is less ambiguous and it's clear what service it is running.

  • Why cross-post to the same community this was already posted to?

  • I've been here for awhile and have a pretty good understanding of how federation works. Number (3) was a very concise way to explain how the All feed works. I sort of knew but that really helped me understand.

Number (7), I will suggest the use of the cross-posting feature. Post to the larger community for engagement but also cross-post to the smaller communities to help them grow. Quiet communities are a cat-and-mouse game where people don't post or comment because no one else is. The more people start to engage, the more others will start to engage.

  • I wish the language tag was used more extensively. But I understand that most people won't bother with selecting the language of their post/comment each time.

I think the language selection should be automatically set for each post if you only have one language selected on your profile, or even an option to default to one if you have more selected.

  • Yeah, that pretty much sounds like the exact same thing here.

  • Is the country between France and Poland called, Deutschland, Allemagne, or Germany?

It's completely outside of the borders of the US but the name used for that country is completely different from then name people from that area would call it.

Which name is right? Which name should be displayed on the map? It depends on a few things.

  • Downloaded what though? OpenStreetMap is just a data source. There are a number of different maps that use it.

I haven't used it in awhile but I think Magic Earth has traffic data, I'm not sure where it's sourced from but the map data they use is from OSM.

  • I guess we shouldn't be putting any money towards the border then if he's just going to put tariffs in place anyway.

  • I hope the US agreed to the same thing for Canada, too.

Pretty much all of Canada's gun crimes are committed with weapons smuggled in from the States.

  • It took me a few minutes to figure out, too.

I got tired of scrolling after just getting to Meat, so the list is appreciated.

  • Video game consoles

Seems like this is limited to arcade machines and playing cards.
