  • I'm curious if you mean this one issue talked about in the article is the only reason why node packaging is "fucked" or do you have any citations you can provide that point out other issues with it?

I feel this is just a natural progression of how the developers wanted it to function and this is an opportunity to resolve it.

Better that this is done by mistake and resolved than it being used in a malicious attack.

  • Even if there is no punishment on top, if Putin ends up losing all he gained, heads will roll including Putin's. If he can gain any amount of land in a negotiation and end the war, he can go back to his people and say that it was all worth it and many of them will buy it.

    Edit: *many

  • I feel this is the most environmentally friendly thing to do in my experience because it was the only thing that stopped me from being spammed by Comcast, former house owners, etc. it's amazing how quick businesses will stop sending you junk mail when you start sending it back.

  • Keeping to a resolution requires resolve which is an emotion. You need to introspect and make sure that the resolution that you have chosen is consistent with the price you are willing to pay whether it is monetary or a personal desire. Prepare yourself for the cost. It's easy to say you're going to give up alcohol but your mind is going to try to sabotage you every step of the way. Keep your goals to yourself and meditate on them. Take some time out of your day to cultivate the feeling of resolve within you. Literally just remember the feeling you have when you have felt determined to finish something and cultivate that feeling. It's a fire that burns within you that can become stronger if you feed it. Finally, don't get discouraged when you fail. You will likely fail a lot but that doesn't mean you should give up. Keep to your resolution even if you keep tripping up.

  • Sounds like it was a cult. I escaped from the Mormon Church once upon a time and for a long time I didn't really see that church as a cult until I examined it using Steven Hassan's BITE model. I also started relating to a lot of experiences from former cult members like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldTMLhTMZAc

  • It's not so easy to just replace your job when you have a specialized skill. It takes months of applying to other jobs, doing interviews, coordinating with recruiters, etc. Not everyone has the time, patience, or ability to do that.

That being said, I am constantly looking for a better position. It takes time out of my day but it's worth it in the long run.

  • As a VIM user, I don't want you using VIM on my system unless you know how to use it. I don't want you borking fstab or the passwd file or some other important config because you don't know how to quit without saving.

  • Telling Google assistant to add items to your shopping list and them being added to a keep note titled "shopping list" was the original functionality in Google keep. I used this feature all the time which is great for someone like me who has ADD. Then without warning, Google decided to change the functionality so that it added the items to Google Express instead. It was a small change that caused a lot of inconvenience and headaches for me. There was a time I would have really cared about this change but considering the inconsistency of Google's products, I really can't get invested in them anymore. I try to degoogle my life as much as possible these days.
