  • The bigger security concern is sleuths figuring out all the camera locations and, by deduction, the blind spots. Johnson is setting up the next Congress to be much more vulnerable to violent attack.

If there's anyone with a lick of sense in the Congressional security team, they've added or moved cameras specifically for this reason. If I was on that team, January 7th I'd be pushing to add more cameras/defenses, given how close it was as is.

  • I've used gpt 3/3.5, bing, bard and copilot, and I'm not super stoked. Copilot gave me PS DSC items that don't actually exist, which was my most recent attempt at using a LLM.

I might see about figuring out if it can hook into my vs code instance so it's a bit smarter at some point.

  • and a bunch of it is code generation to test out how we need to modify our CS curriculum in light of these new tools.

I'm curious if you've gotten anything decent out of them. I've tried to use it for tech/code questions, and it's been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. I've tried to use it to get help with new concepts, but it hallucinates like crazy and always give me bad results, some of the time it's so bad that it gives me answers I've already told it we're wrong.

  • Why? If no one is offering it, they won't need to keep paying higher and higher premiums! Plus, why should they be forced into some communism plan where they pay into a pool to help other people when they have problems? If your house gets destroyed by a hurricane, just pull yourself back up by your bootstraps (assuming they didn't blow away) just like grandpappy did back in 19 dickety 2.

  • They can't go after your opinions because that racist fuck is too stupid to do anything more than use Judaism as a shield for objectively horrible people and actions.

I mean, look at them defend the Forrest Gump of war crimes right along side a massive financial criminal and a well known sex pest just because of their religion. It's the same reason they've cheered while hospitals get bombed because there's no wrong that can be committed by Israel.

  • And, as awful as Nazis are, there’s this thing called “freedom of association.”

Which includes the freedoms of private organizations to not associate with Nazis.

We’d have to change our Bill of Rights before a law like that wouldn’t be stricken by the courts.

We're not talking about the government limiting associations, this is a private organization trying to limit what it's members can do, which is perfectly legal and not even out of the ordinary. As far as I'm aware, the bill of rights is immaterial to this situation, considering we're talking about private people interacting, something which you have no right to force upon people aside from protected classes.

  • I was worried when I saw LegalEagle in one of the chapter titles, but I'm glad it went the way it did. Was entirely unsurprised by the vid turning into a breakdown of that JS asshole (can't remember his name), and holy shit is he a piece of work.

  • That said, celebrating someone dying in the way that’s happening now shows disrespect to human life and an utter lack of humanity.

If he had been murdered, sure. But the fucker lived to be 100 years old and died peacefully, unlike countless other people's deaths that he was responsible for. Celebrating the peaceful death of a monster isn't anything to be upset about.

I understand the motivation, but it should be fought against by remembering that no one is ever just one thing, everyone is a mix of good and bad

Was Kissinger though? What good has he done, and is it even a fraction of the evil he has done?
