  • Basically every absurd lawsuit you hear Americans do is either:

    • genuinely frivolous, tossed out of court immediately, amplified to paint suing corporations as bad
    • someone trying to get damages from a company which genuinely wronged them, often with life altering consequences

Also jeez folks, clean your ears any other way, shoveling wax out of your canals with a non sterile tool regularly is asking for infections. The wax is there for a reason!

  • Except its use as pasture has wrecked the ecosystem that would be there otherwise. From forcing certain plant life to driving out predators, "would still be grass" isn't really saying much when the damage is severe nonetheless.

  • Nothing about those ink cartridges is special enough to justify the kind of locking you're justifying here, nor is a printer a service relying on HP operations to run in the same way an internet service or gas service is. And that's all assuming this was a rented printer, not an owned one.

  • Alternatively videos have reasons they make a terrible format for sharing news due to the inherent time investment required and the difficulty of skimming for information. I can read a news article in 3 minutes that takes someone ten to ramble off, and video scrubbers don't help bouncing between and referencing information at all.

Easier in some circumstances to absorb, harder to share and discuss, overall frustrating. No insecurity needed. Your immediate psychoanalysis tells me you might be projecting though. Consider that one for a while lmao.

  • The actual reason the us hasn't switched is the many billions of dollars it would cost for basically no tangible benefit. There are probably better uses of that money if we actually got to spend it on what we wanted, like social programs.

  • I mean anything anyone does on the internet is tech given they do it on the internet.

Musk is largely just being a shitty ceo doing ceo things, kinda notably for cultural reasons, sure, but musk news probably better serves as more business news than tech.

  • You're immediately going to posturing, something specifically not mentioned, to choose an interpretation which makes it nonsensical. It could simply represent a level of aggression and imperialist intent.

No they are not incompatible thoughts.

I really don't care about this dude enough to argue this point any longer, just try to actually respond to arguments for their content and rhetoric rather than just choosing a nonsensical interpretation out of many sensical though still disagreeable ones.

  • I feel like this guy is largely just drumming up defense budget.

But like, your critique is kind of a silly mischaracterization of what he's saying that doesn't actually address the content of his message. Yes, he's saying that he believes China and Russia treat peacetime the same as wartime, and that they also consider themselves to be at war with Canada. These aren't incompatible thoughts..
