So I looked into it. The time zone was indeed incorrect. The systemsetup and sntp commands are unavailable since there is no OS installed, so I used the date command and changed it manually (assuming there is some level of tolerance there?) and no such luck.
Primarily out of frustration. The dominant players in XR keep promoting their hardware as “computers”, when really they’re an iPad for your face. The most you can do is browse the web, play games, and consume content. They’re overweight and over constrained.
Okay but like, you could have just kept the screen, joysticks, touchpads and buttons and it's only slightly larger LOL
if you don't like a distribution platform taking 20-30% of the sale then don't use that distribution platform
Excuse my frank speech but that's absolute bollocks and lacks any understanding at all of how a monopoly works.
E: It's so hilarious to watch the Lemmy idiots be like "lEaVe ThE mUlTiBiLlIoN dOlLaR cOmPaNy AlOnE!" when it comes to Nintentdo but when it's Valve, then it's totally cool for some reason.
It's just unrealistic to expect any size of the population to even understand what JS is, much less understand why and how it's problematic and even beyond that, how to disable it, and even further to expect them to walk away from the 90%+ of sites using it on the web.
Hard to imagine a scenario where laying your phone on the table with the screen down and looking for flashing lights is more "useful" than just having it on a stand and looking at the screen, but you do you.
I'm not one to yuck anyone's yum, it just sounds like a waste of time and money.
I do want to try this now though haha. Especially when desktop mode comes to Pixels.
