If I want hacky, I'll go pirate the game. I pay for them so I don't need a computer science degree to play them.

It's not on the same level. Android at least provides the option of using an alternative notification system, and also supports downloading apps from anywhere. Including places that don't require an account.

I don't know what that has to do with anything. I wasn't criticizing their Linux support. I don't get upset when a dev doesn't support Linux (especailly now with Proton), only when they go out of their way to explicitly prevent it.

Yes but they did not say Linux. Some devs are making their games available on Steam Deck while blocking them from wider Linux compatibility.
