  • Yeah that's a good answer. A part of the problem is management not understanding that not everyone payroll is an extroverted, type A person. Most folks will actually be more productive if they can fuck off to walk the dog or fold some laundry in the middle of a work day.

  • DDG has gone downhill in recent years.

I haven't noticed this at all.

I've been a frequent DDG g! bang user over the years, but now almost never have to go it. Granted I use kagi for most searches now, but my phone still defaults to DDG, and I've noticed that it works just fine.

Google and therefore kagi are still better for stackoverflow indexing I believe, at least that's how I remember it

  • Classic Trek literally had black&white people (ToS) as an analogue for racism, and a race of socially genderless people as an analogy for gender identity (TNG).

I prefer Classic Trek for sure, but it has always centred its wokeness. Writers just constantly inventing new races to talk about the social issues of the day.

I do wish the newer Trek was a bit drier. That's what I miss the most: the boring episodes without any action happening, just characters talking and building out the universe, and yeah, wrestling with social issues.

  • Not that more evidence is required, but I when I was a kid were had this dog who would just have random -- what seemed like -- asthma attacks, while out on walks. They would go away if I picked him up, and we would continue on. Eventually, I noticed it only happened in certain spots, and that those spots all used some herbicide (because they would have the ads on the lawns).

Anyway that cemented a deep disgust for that tech from a young age. Absolutely disgusting. All so you can try to get your lawn to resemble the most boring PS1-ass green polygon imaginable.

    That's another way.

I'll concede that there is some skill involved in generating some this content, but nowhere near what the humans it purports to replace. And seemingly less and less skill or even intent is required with each advancement. It's conceivable that someone could mimic real artistic output without actually caring about it.
