The problem is, several publishers don't want to pay Nintendo for the larger storage cartridges. Many Switch games only have part of the game physically and you have to download the rest.
Diabolo III made a point of saying the whole game was on the cart for example.
Isn't this the game that had to run full page adverts claiming a new, updated version was available and "the bugs have been squashed!" Obviously this was pre-internet, so updates like this were quite uncommon.
I'll give this one a go. I was on PowerAMP for years ever since I got my first Android phone, a HTC Hero on Android 1.5! Recently I changed to Musicolet. I don't think it's open source, but it is privacy focused, as it doesn't have any features that access a network.
I agree. There seems to be a job in the industry called "Professional Guesser". It's like those companies/people who say, "Barbie Vs Kong" is expected to make $76m at the box office this weekend. How can you possibly know?
Back in the 8bit home micro days, we used to read the manuals all the time. Mainly because the games took so long to load from cassette.
I distinctly remember the Microprose manuals for their simulation games when I had a 16bit computer, I felt like I could master the real vehicle after looking through those.
The fact the Nazis are involved is obviously very cool considering it's Indiana Jones but you can't help (well me anyway) thinking that it is quite Wolfenstein-y.
I was going to be all over this, especially as having the original PS4 disc edition gets me a cheap upgrade. But after watching the Digital Foundry video, I don't think it's actually worth it. Unless you really want the bonus material, get the original cheap and let it apply the PS5 patch.
Maybe it's a strong case of nostalgia but a first person Indiana Jones game doesn't feel right. But on the flip side, if it was a true third person game, people would complain that it's a clone of Uncharted and Tomb Raider despite Indy being the original.
I have mixed feelings which make me happy as I don't have an Xbox. 😁
Well, initial impressions were good but on my phone, the toolbar at the bottom was underneath the android navigation buttons. I'll report it in the lemmy community.
I, too, loved LiftOff! but the developer had twins and, understandably, that seemed like the end.
I'm very much a one game at a time man. I've just finished Control and I'm currently about ten hours into Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I've got Cyberpunk 2077 waiting in the wings, don't know when I'll start that.
In terms of upcoming games in 2024, I'm looking forward to MudRunner Expeditions. I enjoyed the original game and Snow runner too a degree but the jobs became tiresome. The fact the new game is all about exploring really appeals to me.
DVDs had a maximum resolution of 576p. The Superbit DVDs by Sony were DVDs that had no extras so that they could use the entire space on the disc to maximise the bitrate. I think this was only beneficial to those with very large TVs.
I was really looking forward to Indiana Jones on my PS5 but was quite disheartened when I found out it was cancelled so the game could be an Xbox exclusive.
