  • I look forward to trying Boost, even though I only used it for Reddit briefly, several years ago! On desktop, I like the Lemmy web UI just as well as Old Reddit.

  • They have good hardware, but their software is—or, at least, feels—unreliable. With so many digital interactions virtually expecting to be done from a mobile device these days, the last thing I want is for the phone to glitch and give up on me when I need it. Yes, customization is nice, but these days I value reliability much more than that, even more than performance in some respects. Unfortunately, that mostly leaves Samsung and Apple as options for "reliable" software...

  • I've played the remastered campaign recently. I remember playing it through several times when it came out, and the remastered game today was just as enjoyable as the original back then. It always has been, and still is, my favourite CoD.

  • Tailscale and Netmaker use wireguard under the hood, so as long as you manage to establish the connections, they should be just as fast! If you need to use relaying, however, that will introduce additional overhead.

  • I've tried from networks outside my home and I can access the server from there. Looking at a traceroute, I stop getting anything somewhere between my ISP and the datacenter the server is in.

  • I do this, too. I haven’t tried Tailscale, but Netmaker wasn’t able to deal with my CGNAT without a relay node, and I found that to be hit-and-miss.
