  • A lot of people on the internet don't realize how much content is plain copyright infringement that simply doesn't get pursued. Memes, fanart, edits, covers, so forth.

Personally I think that should be reason to rethink how IP law is written, if the average person doesn't find so many uses infringing and they have become part of the typical cultural habits. But that hasn't happened.

  • A lot of technology is expensive when it's first introduced and it has not reached mass market yet. Bigger TVs were already gaining popularity before Smart TVs. Getting cutting-edge display tech from a couple decades ago ain't all that.

Nah, this stuff is not nearly cheap enough to justify all the spyware and ads.

  • Shit that's made up based on someone else affects the person who's it based on. This is a basic concept that you are sure to have seen if you have a minimum of real world experience. It's not even like you could pass deepfake as parody, when the point is making it seem real. Not everyone will be able to know it's not real, and it will still be humilliating regardless. Pretending it's so easy to be unaffected by lies and harassment is hollow grandstanding. I can only assume nothing of the sort ever happened to you for you to act so nonchalant about it.

This isn't even about me, but you can't get yourself to think of anyone else, can you?

  • Why would it even matter to "prove deepfake is possible"? It's not any less humilliating for the person, and it's not any less of a PR issue for any business. Hoaxes can cause about as much harm as real compromising information, if they are spread far enough.

Every single insult you add I'm more convinced you just don't care about people beyond your ability to whack off for whoever you feel like.

  • So you choose that the way to make them pay is to inflict deepfake porn upon them? Sounds like you can see how that can hurt just fine.

Meanwhile, what about someone who got deepfake porn without even get involved in the situation and got fired for it? They could very well say that the AI guy decided getting their rocks off mattered more than their dignity or eating.

  • I'm on the disagree side on this. As much as I did use whatever garbage the game threw at me, there was no incentive to use your best weapons tactically, because unless you were fighting a boss, breaking a good weapon would not bring an equivalent reward... and then the major bosses were weak to the Master Sword anyway.

It also felt incredibly unrewarding to explore and open chests only to find yet another disposable weapon rather than some permanent upgrade like the heart pieces used to be.

Around the time I felt like Horizon Zero Dawn did more to encourage smart use of multiple weapons than Zelda did, by giving them different funcions and making it so enemies had different defenses and weak spots.

  • I also hate souls games and Bloodborne didn't feel much different.

I think the key issue is that Hidetaka Miyazaki is a masochist and I'm very much not. I don't enjoy fighting the same boss dozens of times being taken down in 3 hits. Even when I win, I feel more tired than satisfied. I'd rather play a more traditional hack'n slash or some other action RPG where if some boss is too much of a pain I grind a little then stomp them.
