Yeah sounds like it was something similar. CloudFlare showed spikes in BGP announcements (the Border Gateway Protocol - basically how each network node knows it's neighbours and the route through that neighbourhood) when the system went down. So Optus stopped telling the world it existed and everything updated around it, shutting it out from the internet.
Got out early. Sun, walk, puppy pats. Now home in the cool for a chilled out day. Got some life and work admin to catch up on but mainly waiting around for storms
You know those days when you think "this is fine" then you realise you have spent 20 mins spiralling about what to wear this afternoon when one of your besties (who has seen you at your best and worst and doesn't care) is dropping in for a casual hello (so you don't even have to go out)...
...and you realise you have been in a low key panic attack over nothing most of the day you just didn't connect ... 😔
I am getting into the swing of being carless. Today I had to nick into a local cafe to see someone, nick into the local op shop who were doing a carpark clearance sale, nick down to the parcel lockers and grab a pakidge. All in the neighbourhood but all different directions. Jumped on a bus to start and then walked a big circle. I would definitely have used my car previously.
And it's a nice slow way to go about a Saturday.
It would be nice to get another car but I think this is better in many ways.....(also helped by having actual PT options as backup)
I miss my mum. She's been dead a few years now, and was elderly and in poor health. And I am a grown up. But sometimes I just want to be able to lay down next to her again and feel safe. I really miss her.
I will be ok. Just needed to tell someone. And if I tell anyone here in my real world they will want to make it better or something and it can't be. It just is.
You can get pretty good GF pasta these days. Barilla GF pasta tastes exactly the same..bread is harder but it's definitely worth it to feel better. Hope it works out and you get an answer
A little thing. I had a rest day today. Read my book. Watched some old tv. Felt sad but managed to get myself out for a walk. I am so terrified of slipping back into depression I struggle to rest. But I stopped and looked at my to-do list I made for the weekend and I did it all. And I rested.
Just wanted to write that down so I remember it's ok
