The cops in my city were under a DOJ consent decree for like 20 years, and it didn't make them any less effective. They're actually worse now, because they actively don't give a fuck.
Having read Man's Search For Meaning myself, I think one would have to have serious brainworms to take that message away from the book.
The message that I will away was that under the worst circumstances, you have to dig deep down within yourself to find a reason to keep going. It might be hard to understand that message if you've never really experienced any kind of difficulty in your life.
That said, I often apply the opposite of Hanlon's razor when talking about GOP operatives: never attribute to stupidity that which can be ascribed to malice.
This was exactly what they argued during covid when they wanted to open things up early. Elderly and immunocompromised people don't contribute to the economy.
Step 1: complain about government spending, claim that it creates untenable debt/deficit (they don't care which, their base doesn't understand the difference.)
Step 2: insist Dems just make cuts to social programs to curb debt/deficit. Dems at least partially cave to keep government functional.
Step 3: immediately push to cut taxes for the wealthy and big businesses, creating a massive deficit in the budget.
It's great that you have found a church that works for you. However, it is Christian evangelicals that are driving the US headlong into authoritarian right wing politics age the demonization of LGBTQ+ groups and individuals.
You also don't get to say, "those people are not real Christians because they believe differently to me." They are real Christians.
I encourage you not to internalize something that doesn't apply to you. Instead maybe look to the behavior of your fellow believers as to why your religion gets criticized, and even call them out for their shitty beliefs and actions.
The problem is that cheap labor in the form of teenagers drives down the pay for adults. These people think that letting their teens work may bring extra income for the household, but what's really happening is that they're now competing with their kids for the same jobs.

My main argument against lawns is the massive amounts of pesticides, weed killers, and fertilizer they require to look like the ones in the picture. Coincidentally, that's the point this meme is making.
Also, just because lawns aren't the worst possible use off water that you can think of, doesn't make them not wastes of water. Just because almond farms in California use more water that lawns on the same state doesn't change the fact that lawns waste water. Those same California almond farms sissy have nothing to do with the thousands of suburbs in other areas which have HOAs that require grass lawns.
Aside from all that, not all of the 85% of industrial water usage is wasteful. Efficiency needs to be improved, but we do need to grow food to eat.
