    • Step 1: acquire genetic material
    • Step 2: supplement material with closely related extant species <- We are here
    • Step 3: Get an egg cell with your Frankenstein-DNA to survive and divide
    • Step 4: Produce a healthy baby
    • Step 5: Get a small population in a Zoo/Park
    • Step 6: have a permanent wild population in a specific area
    • Step 7: have enough of those areas to declare repopulation a success

Is fixating on the mammoths here first-world centrism? The article mentions 4 other species that have way better chances. Also, given how far we are from actual wild mammoths, that "it can solve climate change" argument is just wrong the way it's been presented.

  • Maybe because you stole Gods own stock photos.

Says right there: "@alla(h)". This is your divine punishment, repent sinner!

  • Got into 3D-printing a few years back. Intended to print some replacement parts, a few decorations and gadgets, and took care to not waste too much plastic. In the internet, there are pages dedicated to 3d models other people have printed. They were always a good inspiration on what could be done, and even if the model isn't exactly what you wanted, it was always a functioning prototype to test with.

Since last year, multicolour printers have gained popularity. They automatically change between 2 different colours, but to make sure nothing of the old colour is left in the system, every time they change it they print out a few grams of waste product.

It's a waste indeed if you look at the "poop bucket" of anyone who uses these types of printers. Idc if it's only the "technically recycleable PLA" they use, I don't like it. And now I have to manually filter out those models, and they can fill an entire page depending on what's the new trend right now.

  • CCC reminds me: While it is a huge convention and the talks and crowds don't feel personal at all, they always need volunteers in groups of 2-3 to watch the fire exits.

Maybe a thing they are passionate about needs small groups of volunteers? I'd assume that there's always some downtime to talk to one another.

  • By "read the post", I assume they mean "read the 2nd sentence".

The increases range from 20% to 56% in price depending on currency.

Sure, to verify this claim would take a bit more work. But the comment in question was just "14$ is not 50% more".

The more appropriate thing to point out is that the increase in US $ is just 16%, anyway.

  • Around the time the pyramid of Giza is built, actual Aliens build a slightly smaller pyramid in modern day Tunisia. No one cares and all conspiracies still center on the ancient egyptian ones.

  • Me and my 4 tribesmen making meters of twine by funnelling fibers through a mamoth femur: "Isn't technology amazing?"

1500 years later in Mesopotamia: "Your feedback is highly appreciated, please listen to our lyremen as you wait in line"

  • Vagabond: Create a random Tarot card when a hand is played while you have 4$ or less.

I doubt I would even be bought from the shop most times. Unless I'm the player and not the most applicable joker, then having actual interest on 10$ might be a better life.

  • Underhero is a RPG. There is (bad) 2D platforming and an interesting blend between turn based and real time battles with decent amount of player expression, but I find most interesting the writing and scenarios you will find yourself in during the game. You play as an Underling after the Hero has an unfortunate accident after all, and while technically a silent protagonist, all entries in the journal/hint system/to-do list are just brimming with personality.

I swear I first saw this game in list of "Paper Mario-likes", but I can't find a single video with that topic that mentions it, and now I realize that it only has like 600 reviews on steam.

  • I don't think this is applicable to backyard aquaponics. You don't want to include an anaerobic digestion plant in your backyard project.

Either you have no use for the Bio-Gas, or you use more than 10kg of fish can produce.

  • But your vehicle would itself "curve" "downwards" due to gravity, surely a straight line means that you can point a laser, or a hypothetical 0 mass particle beam, uninterrupted from your starting point to your destination.

  • we’ve decided to waive our right to arbitration

That's legalese for "We still think that we have that right, we will use it again".

  • I like your funny words, magic man!

  • Im pretty sure the actual, physical Trading card games like MtG and Pokemon gave us all these games with card mechanics in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Culdcept (1997), Baiten Kaitos (2003), Kingdom Hearts - Chain of Memories (2004). Then the card games weren't as popular for a bit, then the digital ones died out.

And then Blizzard released Hearthstone in 2014. I haven't played the other ones to know for sure, but I believe Yu-Gi-Oh Master duels crafting system can directly trace it's roots to it. Trade cards for dust of a specific rarity, dust from 3 can form a new card, Shiny cards give enough dust on their own for any card, etc. .

  • Always in favor of taking power from mods that they can abuse and simply do not need.

The 1 "You think you can come into MY instance, and downvote ME?" post I read was 1 too many.

  • Are you sure about that? If there are things I know about the solar system, it's that the distance between planets is massive and earth weighs nothing compared to the outer planets or the sun.

That earth like rogue planet needs to be like 1/500th of the distance to the sun to have an comparable gravitational pull (sun is 333000 heavier, sqrt is 577), and I'm not a astronomer but I believe for each planet a random number between 0 and 2 solar distances that the rogue planet passes the orbit is appropriate. So like, 1/1000 chance a planet gets seriously disturbed...

I'm gonna be honest I thought this would be way lower before I calculated.

  • And other cops aren’t.

We have here, from this case alone:

    • 1 absolutely insane individual who recklessly killed Jaahnavi Kandula, Kevin Dave.
    • Daniel Auderer, who laughed at her death and said she was lower value anyway
    • Mike Solan, who didn't shut Daniel down the moment he said that, also coincidentally SPOG president
    • Whomever is authorized to discharge all 3 of these
    • Whomever gave any of these 3 their positions
    • The Union that defends these guys
    • The cops willingly giving money to that Union

We have more of such cases than Police Unions.
