This is how I was able to contribute to a major Python library on GitHub. Their CI and test coverage was impressive, and ensured my little bug fix won't break everything for the many users of the library.
Here is how platforms die: first, they are good to their users; then they abuse their users to make things better for their business customers; finally, they abuse those business customers to claw back all the value for themselves.
Unless I run a Lemmy instance myself (which is possible), I have zero reason to trust an instance's admins.
Even if my instance's admin happens to be the founder of privacyguides.org, that doesn't mean he will never read any "private" messages (or be forced by someone else to hand them over).
I just want a SHIELD with AV1 hardware decoding, full-spec HDMI 2.1 (with 4K 120Hz VRR) and HDR10+ support (the 2019 SHIELD models support Dolby Vision and standard HDR10, but not HDR10+). I personally also prefer Android TV over Google TV (due to not forcing a Google account to use).
Is he not very good at the game? Usually when people complain about FTL RNG they are new to the game or just bad. I mean no offense, I'm a bad player too but most FTL streamers I've seen can beat the game quite consistently.
Here's the thing about all search engines that aren't Google (including the ones "based" on Google results). They all suck for regional results in many non-Latin languages.
I've seen those puzzle piece captchas (common on crypto exchanges) that always say I completed the puzzle faster than 99% of users (even if I didn't do the puzzle particularly fast). I presume those 99% are all bots attempting to hack into crypto wallets.
