I don't get sim-racing. Even an expensive setup doesn't feel anywhere close to real driving.

I bet it still doesn't come close to simulating real driving.

Keep at it. My self-hosting passion is what eventually got me into a successful career.

Only half of that is actually about reading. The rest is just showing off.

I am starting to become more interested in coffee, but even so I don't think I want to put this much effort into my coffee. Coffee gives me energy, so it can't be too difficult.

This is me with my boss. I hope I don't get fired.

It's a weird trend. Products that are popular with youth and "seem" un-healthy get banned by populistic laws, despite limited evidence proving them actually being un-healthy.

The other prominent example I can think is vaping. I don't even vape, but it's weird to see it demonized as much as cigarettes, when the evidence for it being as harmful is very limited.

Yep I mostly comment. Back on Reddit I used to almost never post because most posts would get buried in New. I might post more here since there is a need of content.

I block them, then they never show up in my All feed. Easy enough. I'm waiting for the option to personally block entire instances.

Ironically, right now Lemmy is better for contributors than lurkers. The limited amount of content means than any post/comment that I submit is more likely to be seen and get engagement. I already get more comment replies on Lemmy than I usually did on Reddit.

If I'm looking it from a new user's perspective, snaps offer an easy way to install many apps. If people actually care about their downsides they will eventually find out and stop using them on their own.

Which OS am I talking about? Hell, I have no idea. Fedora? Maybe Vanilla 2 when it comes out? Certainly nothing Arch based (sorry, guys, I love arch too but it's not for beginners...).

I honestly think it's Ubuntu. If we put aside the biases many of us "experienced" users have against Ubuntu/Canonical/snaps, Ubuntu seems like the best choice. Well supported, wide community, sane defaults.

Forza Horizon 5. The game literally throws hypercars at you within the first few minutes. It's fun, although many people complain that it ruins the sense of progression (nevertheless the game has hundreds of cars, unlocking them all would take forever).

I think the major difference is that USB-C is a much more mature standard than Matter. But even then it's not perfect.
