Being correctly fed helps me feel less anxious in general, catastrophizing less, sleeping better and having a better yoga practice.
Suburban housewives trying to learn a new language through osmosis. It is discouraging to be in a group where noone does the work and tries to actually learn instead thinking that paying for something is enough to master x or y.
I am guilty of some of those preference bits. Like the mustard, ketchup, etc made me chuckle because I can taste a difference or maybe a texture change throws me off.

I come from a house where my mom, grandma aunts and uncles can cook professionally a variety of different cuisines and make most of things from scratch, which is exhausting IMHO but to each their own.
Left a toxic study group and I feel so much lighter and hsppy because of it. Have more time to myself and things that hold interest just for me and my enjoyment.

My dad died this exact same way and while doctors kept saying he didn't suffer at all because it was so quick I just thought they were being reassuring since I guess that is what they are supossed to say.

I am sorry you are experiencing this, it is so frustrating! Obligatory "I am not in the US" but what I ended up doing was to list my mom's address as if I was still living there so I could access a different clinic with different doctors since the one I was stuck with gave me similar advice as yours. Not perfect but it kind of helped.
My current interests are yoga, succulents, reading and painting but having adhd makes this list ever changing.
I think yoga has stuck the most, seventeen years and counting, but I don't think of myself as a yogi.
