  • What do you use to listen to these audiobooks? I've downloaded a copy of my favorite series but no idea what to use to listen to them. I prefer something with some kind of cloud sync between devices but it's not required and I'm fine self hosting that data in like Google drive or something.

  • Now that's a price I can get behind. I think they are $55 for 1 of the series 5 right now. I debated just getting a security key version for $25 but I know I'll just end up getting the higher tier later because I don't really understand them and how they work.

  • And I still wish there were an “open protocol” so that I could use the steam overlay to chat with a buddy playing elden ring on her xbox while I play trepang2 on my PC.

I'm 99.99% sure that discord released an xbox app so you can chat on discord cross platform now. Haven't used an xbox in ages though.

    Quick google

  • It's not as obvious as the other apps for sure and requires the premium subscription which is like 10 bucks a year. Was an instant buy for me when I switched over. When you auto fill a login it will automatically copy your 2FA key to quick paste into the box. I love it.

  • delete the cache/cookie data for lemmy.world in your browser settings. Directly after the hack everything was working mostly fine for me but if I would open comments in a new tab instead of the one I was already in it would log me out and I was unable to log in. cleared my cache/cookies and logged in again and I'm back to being able to open comments in a new tab without issue.

  • made a backup in another one that I mirrored all my favorite communities in and I am seriously getting one more in a smaller, more specialized server. Yes, I do get the point of Federated, you do not need to explain

I have a second account on a much smaller server as well. and when I was going through the other day subbing to different things that I was already subbed to here I realized that even though everything gets federated out to everything it's more a pull to the server than a push to all servers. There was a few communities that I subbed to that I had been subbed to on this account since the beginning and I was apparently one of the first on my other instances to go there because the communities were barren. When opened on this account they were full of life. so following the communities you want to early on a small server seems pretty important to me so you continue to have access to everything in the event your main fails for whatever reason.
