Yes. They are involved in a ton of industries, legal and illegal. For example, if you have eaten an avacado recently, there’s an excellent chance it’s a conflict avacado with money being paid to the cartel by farmers for “protection”.

+1 to this. I found myself wanting to watch them/hear them. I also found myself wanting to know what their favorite (fill in the blank) was. You know someone, but sometimes those specific tangible things about their preferences get forgotten.
This could be a really interesting short story. Aliens, but very tiny and focused on interacting with things on earth as a similar scale. Abducting bugs, crop circles in your back yard, etc.
