The top five categories of Bad Bot attacks are fake account creation, account takeovers, scraping, account management, and in-product abuse.

Is it just me or is this article trashy. It lists scraping as bad and suggests it's immoral. It also lists account management as bad.

I got a feeling powers that be will attempt to make scrapping illegal under the guise of AI fears. I don't imagine that many companies like scrapers that collate prices of their products into a website that let's people compare prices against other stores. I don't imagine the real bad actors like scrapers that archive internet content into things like the way back machine. It makes it harder to delete that late night drunken rant, the poor PR choice or the political flip flopping or makes it easier to capture real bad activities in the act before they delete their activity after lighting fires everywhere

You're pretentiously laughing at region locking. That's been around for a while. You can't untrain these AI. This PII which has always been publicly available and seems to be an issue only now is not something they can pull out and retrain. So if its that big an issue, region lock them. Fuck em. But again this doesn't sound like Joe blow has information available. It seems more like websites that are scraping company details which these ai then scrape.

Its called culpability and I think all legal systems include it in their decision making. Like are you culpable for murder if you gave someone covid and they died, should you get life in prison. If you stab someone a bunch of times you are probably more culpable though. And all the in between is for the justice system to figure out. I hate it in a lot of cases too. Lots of things are broken but I always debate is it better to have that or a more strict system where it isn't factored in.
