  • I have a pet theory that a lot of our passionate "movements" that get us all angry and upset are only those movements that benefit someone powerful.

I see stuff like this and think, "well that's another coin in that jar"

Like this should piss so many people off. Its something enough people know about. It's something that you would think would have all kinds of groups up in arms about. Like ask any self respecting 2A enthusiasts if the government should keep skeleton key to every lock in their house.

But at least there is Daniel Bernstein

  • Isn't that the argument.

There's an unspoken agreement between a country and its youth.

The youth works hard and takes on debt at a pivotal moment losing years of work opportunity to specialize in something that will contribute to the economy.

In return the country is to provide a stable economy to find work so these people can repay that debt over time.

Question is when the country fails their end, the student still owes and is behind in experience. This debt can ruin them for decades. So should the government help repay to compensate for shitting the bed

  • What's there to participate in if the country can't secure Democratic elections or if the people cant trust the elections are true or if the courts can't enforce the rules that keep the machine running or if the people lack any kind if shared knowledge that binds them so they are aware how the system runs.

Participation is important in Democratic countries but its not what makes democracy possible. Democracy is only possible when there are key things in place for it to rest on. Subversion is kicking those legs out from under it. Propaganda targets the civilians to do the kicking.

  • Isn't there a Playbook for how to destroy a country and its something like attack the pillars that democracy rests on.

Its something like judicial system, free press, education

If you look at what supports a Democratic system, every single one of them are targeted by either the right or the left. It's kind of crazy that I saw people who predicted this 15 years ago and now its clear as day.

  • I've had it make up things if I ask it for a list of say 5 things but there's only 4 things worth listing. I haven't seen it stray from summarizing something I've fed it though. If its giving text, its been pretty accurate. Only gets funky when you ask it things where information isn't available. Then it goes with what you probably want

  • Sure it does. People tell me all the time.

Let me explain though, People create stuff. Artist create over priced same stuff but also sue you if you think about sharing it with anybody or creating your own. And the whole time they demand your attention by invading any cool space to busk. Like tipping culture, it invades everywhere.

Eventually spaces that were collaberative and imaginative and unique are sued to oblivion and threatened with DMCA take downs so that this mediocre and costly mass produced stuff can be sold for 20x its value.

If artist disappeared tomorrow, we would see a boom of content creation like never before. If we removed all the people trying to make their dollar in our spaces we would be left with actual creators not artists. We could chase the corporate social media hacks away. We could get back to a free internet when we remove all the people trying to capitalize on it.

These greedy bottom feeders only get worse the more popular they get.

Think of Justin bieber + psychosocial. Really Fun. Justin bieber or slipknot, not as fun. Try to find that mix on Spotify. You never will. And in a world of spotifies monopoly on online music we all lost the unique creative opportunity the internet provided because we all need to over pay for the artist nobody asked for. Anybody remember downloading crazy remixes on bearshare, how fun was that playing the audio file of 4 song smashed up and getting a truly awesome new song. Never again will we get that unique window of creation in our time.

The internet was a refuge for people to get away from the over produced corporate crap and instead the artist brought them all here and censored and sued and threatened and put up paywall after paywall all to funnel us to their shitty fucking ad supported websites and pateron
