  • You could watch some Perun videos on the subject. But THE question seems to be what victory looks like. Russia never was explicit on their objectives and what they would call a win.

Even if Ukraine would receive less help, Russia is not going to steamroll a country filled with people that know that losing to Russia means they will be starved, beaten and murdered.

I hope we don't have to find out, but ita going to be a long and bloody road regardless of outcome.

  • Natural gas .. Gaza. In the mean time less than a million dirt poor Guyanans are sitting on the worlds largest reserve. Getting in on that is way less of an issue for anyone.

You are drawing lines that are not there. Gaza is horrible enough without inventing nonsense around it.

    • De Correspondent heeft leuke podcasts
    • De Rudi en Freddie show
    • Vandaag in de kosmos
  • You seem to be making a mountain out of a molehill. Attacking the tone of the message adds nothing.

The "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" view of the world is something most Americans ascribe to. It might not apply to an individual but it definitely describes the group.

Yes years of corporate propaganda made an impact, I hope for them they can be the change they want to see.

  • Break em up, let the adtech corp buy the data from its various former sister companies and then see what the price of the data should be and which information is valuable and which isn't allowing platforms like YouTube to die in favor of less open platforms.

This opens the space to more profit and more large advertising companies to have access to my habits, sensitive information and more to do with as they please.

/s I don't know how to fix the issue, but it is clear several of alphabets ventures exist to feed the adtech beast. If the reallocation of these funds stops, several of the Google sisters will vanish in favor of what?

  • I sort of get your point, but sometimes the truth also stings a little and people need to be aware that when it's good is when you need to prepare for the downturn, that is the moment to prepare your nestegg, unionize etc.

As I said in the other comment, the Union has been villofied by corpo's that people in the US think they are only to antagonize the company.

  • I'd probably just raise the gas taxes and inroduce the new taxes for EV's

  • Yes, erase the history there. That way people are no longer reminded of it either.

Isn't putting a nice statue to the woman (giving her a name and a face) with a plaque explaining why the street has its name not a better solution. Instead of erasing it showing people that some of the things we hold dear don't nessecarilily are because of nice things.

Or actually name the street after the woman's real name (if we know it)

  • Thank you, I felt like I was taking crazy pills for thinking this.

  • Nope you are just advocating for raping, plundering, children stealing, warcriminals that employ convicted criminals of the worst kind on the front lines and if they survive set them loose on their own society.

All from the comfort of your safe bedroom, in a country with a representative democracy that allows you to spout heinous nonsense, protected by anonimity and the government you so despise.

  • Well flat vehicle taxing based on weight, ICE engines are taxed additionally by tax on fuel. Not all taxation needs to/should happen in a single space.

If the US raises gas prices the desire to drive gas guzzling pickups and SUVs will automatically lower (I hope).

And about paying taxes for something im not leveraging.. depending on the tax burden and possible energy saving based on reduced weight I don't know. It might just be fully impractical as a system that allows for easy swap in and out of batteries might add so much weight and complexity it makes the whole exercise pointless anyway.

I'm mostly just hoping on improvements in battery tech in general. That aging EVs can be equipped with newer batteries with higher power density.

  • Comon.. sarcasm is not always obvious.. but his comment was sarcasm. It has to be. I choose to believe it is.

  • Good point, just read some more on that. Seems like the bulk is refined to be used in boiler furnaces and burned. A small part is reused, and then the final leftovers are so horrible they are disposed of in controversial ways.

But I must admit I thought it was all just burned outright. I have not been able to find numbers on what percentage is recycled and burned and what part is just burned, calling it recycling which is technically correct (the best kind of correct) but not what most people think of when they hear recycling.

  • But Comrad, that makes no sense. You focus on one of the options while there are other munitions available. And even if so.. it's welcome regardless.

You tell me to cope harder while making fun of a serious issue. Russia is devastating a country because of geopolitical games where they want Ukrainians to be vassals to a brutal regime that denies they are their own people with their own culture.

All help is something and trying to sway the public opinion by diminishing the efforts of others only prolongs the war and suffering of the Russians at the front and the Ukranians as a whole.

Maybe you should be putting your energy into fighting for the Ukranians to live their lives in peace and choose their own destiny.

  • Yeah. Probably not 250 dumb shells though.

If these are guided or programmed shells like SMArt, Excalibur or Vulcano rounds than that means 250 things the Russians hold dear will be obliterated from very far away.

  • The US could compensate by people driving less of the unnecessarily large vehicles.

Look large pickups and SUVs have a function, but driving a 2 ton vehicle to and from the office by yourself is not a green choice.

Make road taxes based on weight.

In terms of EVs I would love a solution for the range. I drive relatively small commute and if there was a way to leave 2/3 of the batteries in my garage and only install them when I want to visit grandma it would be great and save a lot of weight.
