  • In places where prostitution is legal, the amount of human trafficking goes way down, because the brothels in these places are usually inspected pretty regularly. They have to follow regulations or else they will be forcefully shutdown, and the employees being there willingly is usually one of those regulations.

  • Like, sure, Nutsomic and Dessalinator are pieces of shit with abhorrent views who are transphobic and murderous and support genocide

I was aware and dissapointed by the transphobic Nutomic messages. I haven't heard anything bad about Dessalines, though, besides the fact that they continue to work with Nutomic after said messages were exposed. Dessalines did at least make sure Trans mods were installed in c/transgender, so they seem to not share the same opinion.

What did Dessalines do? Or is Dessalinator someone different from Dessalines?

  • If you are actually arguing that our accomplishments in space aren't real, in good faith, you are very uneducated on the topic.

If the US made up the moon landing, we have many nations that have the technology to call out the lie. Yet none have, not even supposed 'enemies' of the US.

That one seems harder to 'work out', than your assumption that we couldn't go to space with the technology at the time.

People have even simulated the first moon landing using the same Apollo guidance code used in 1969. So there is a lot of evidence for anyone to work that one out.

  • Really shows how ass backwards the US really is.

Cuba, a country that the US has tried to destroy for over 60 years now with economic sanctions, has better healthcare than the US, aka the richest nation on the planet.

There is no excuse for the state of healthcare in the US. We really have some evil, greedy people deciding to let people die so they can have more money.

  • I think, removing loop holes, and making sure everyone pays there share is a much better fight

That is the whole goal of focusing on 'taxing the rich', though. These two are the same thing stated in different ways. The only people who abuse these loopholes are the rich. The working class already pays their share.

Maybe you just have a problem with the wording, I guess? Because you don't seem to disagree, at all, from the quote above.

  • Also, 'debauchery', in this case just means more people are happier being themselves, and loving who they want to love, more than almost anytime in history.

These kind of people ignore all the regular kind of debauchery, like priests committing sexual abuse against children.

  • Reddit brought far more right-leaning individuals.

Definitely not going to argue with you there. I switched here to get away from that exact thing, and because I felt much more at home on Lemmy with people like you in the comments(I see you in the comments all of the time <3).

I was sick of seeing brain dead right wing and lib talking points being upvoted to the top of every thread. So it doesn't surprise me that a lot of the Reddit immigrants are more right leaning.

Still, I am proof that at least some of us left Reddit because we found a home here surrounded by more left-leaning people. I find myself agreeing with a lot more people here than I ever did on Reddit.

  • Didn't Lemmy have almost no content before the reddit migration?

If the Reddit fiasco didn't happen I would have never even looked into Lemmy. I would imagine at least half, if not the majority, of Lemmy users joined around the same time.

I haven't looked at Reddit since then, and I most definitely feel like Lemmy is much better than Reddit. I think you are focusing too much on the few Reddit immigrants that complain, and you interact with many of us that don't complain, more often than not.

  • It really is.

I guess if I had to pick I'd definitely choose the lifetime of prison, but with the harem, or whatever. It would still get old pretty quick, I imagine. I understand the eventual insanity, for sure.

I definitely feel worse for the women in that situation, but maybe they were allowed to rotate out and leave, at the very least.

  • I'm confused. I may have missed it, but why are religious beliefs even in this conversation? Did he say that he shot her for Jesus or something?

I agree that this POS should rot, the video just shows a murderer murdering an innocent person.

Edit: I missed the part of the video where the lady says the Jesus stuff. I see what you are saying now.

  • In university computer science, in the states, MS server was the main server OS that they taught my class during our education.

Microsoft loses money to let the universities and students use and learn MS server for free, or at least they did at the time. This had the effect of making a lot of fresh grad developers more comfortable with using MS server, and I'm sure it led to MS server being used in cases where there were better options.
