This is a huge part of it. A lot of these people have a huge misunderstanding of gender dysphoria and seriously think that people are convincing 8 year olds to have a sex change. It's a lack of education and critical thinking skills that the leaders of right wing politics and religious/cult leaders have been perpetuating for a long time. Stupid people are easier to control.

That and a lack of empathy to even try to understand what another human is going through, especially if they are different from themselves. This too, probably stems from the same fascist playbook.

I have a 2017 vehicle with a manual transmission. It is probably one of the last of it's kind and I fully expect my next vehicle purchase to be an ICE vehicle or at least the next big alternative fuel source. I have always driven old Japanese stick shifts until recently, and I can't say I won't miss it, but the future is now old man. I hope to get another 10 years out of my current vehicle, so it'll at least be awhile.

Do they actually have the same selection as Spotify and Apple music? I checked their website, and it appears to be catered to Arabic listeners, but I saw one of the pictures at least has Taylor Swift on there. I listen to a lot of niche stuff, though, and I don't feel like downloading the app just to see if it's there. That is a good price if they have all of the same artists, though.

Yea, I will definitely concede that gun culture is toxic and stupid and seems to attract more assholes than not.

I think Western people just have a bias where it's fine if their own country does it, but when their boogeyman China is doing the same exact thing, it's all of the sudden scary and bad.

I, personally, think TikTok is not great for people or society, but I have the same exact feelings about Facebook, Instagram, and all of the major Western run social media stuff. TikTok is by no means any worse than them. For that reason, Lemmy is the only social media account I have at this point, but I dont judge anyone for using any of them. The majority of the people criticizing TikTok are hypocritical, for sure.

I sincerely appreciate the well wishes. I hope a situation never arises where I need one, either, and I kind of wish the world and our country wasn't the way it is, but here we are. I also think this bill is not a terrible idea at all, maybe just needs to be ironed out a bit to consider low income people somehow.

The thing convincing people to be athiests isn't other athiests. Facts and logic are the missionaries for athieism.

You are right that guns rarely improve a situation, but sometimes we have to deal with the fact that we live in a cruel world where a lot of people carry guns and are desperate enough to use them on people.

Personally, if I was being robbed and was conceal carrying, I would do everything I could to not escalate the situation. I would just slowly give them my stuff. But if I am trapped in a building with a mass shooter or something, I would rather try to defend my family and myself rather than just waiting to be executed.

Many people who conceal carry and actually train with their firearms can draw and fire in about 1.5 seconds. That is fast enough that you won't be shot dead in a lot of situations.

Brandishing is dumb. If someone is going to draw their firearm, it should only ever be in a life or death situation, and they should be justified in using it immediately.

Open carry is also just a bad idea everywhere, not just the hood.

Have people in the Midwest never heard of hearing protection or something? I was raised in a rural area and did target and clay shooting a lot. I always wore hearing protection, and my ears work just fine now.

I most definitely agree with your ideas on state militias, especially in more populated areas. I think at least hunting rifles and shotguns should be available to people living in rural areas.

Honestly, metal and hardcore music is my bread and butter, but I am pretty ADHD when it comes to music. I've also made hip hop beats, and edm tracks. I listen to just about anything except pop and country(I love some bluegrass and hyperpop though).

Interesting and cool to know! In Minecraft, of course. There are probably varying levels of tire quality. I imagine the quality of the knife probably helps a bit, too. I bet something sturdy like an ice pick would make it pretty easy.

I really identify with instruments as well, my drummer friend. I would call myself a guitarist, mainly, but I can play drums and produce music as well so maybe I could expand that title to just 'musician'. Keep on slamming those skins.

Obviously, the fact of whether or not there is a creator cant really be disproven, but I would say that any of the gods conjured up by humans have a pretty substantial amount of evidence going against their existence.

If there is a creator of some kind, it is so far beyond our comprehension that it is pretty much useless to ponder on.

You kinda gotta poke and make a mark and then cut horizontally. The sidewalls of the tire are easier to get through. Also stand back because the air pressure can still fuck you up a bit, especially larger car and truck tires.
