There are two kinds of Americans. One kind fully understands what's going on and is horrified. The other kind thinks it's fine(if they think about it at all) but only because they figure they won't be affected by it. Right now, that second group dominates. At some point, the numbers will tip in the opposite direction, but it won't be pleasant.
Democrats have mostly decided that moving further to the right is the way to go. That it didn't help them in the 2024 election doesn't seem to matter. At some point, I hope the few who have kept their values intact start their own party.
I swear Putin's got something on him, but I can't imagine what. It doesn't seem like there's any horrible thing that Trump could have done that his cult couldn't spin into a positive.
Or it could be there's a profit angle to this like there is to almost everything he does.
I'd argue that it wasn't so much that the campaign failed but the DNC did by failing to recognize the importance of the election and worrying too much about not turning off Republicans. The reality of Tim Walz is he's not going to be subject to the racism and misogyny Harris was. Maybe that's enough.
He's going to spend the entire "speech" telling everyone how great he is and how great everything is going, essentially telling them to ignore what they've seen. As usual.
Beat me to it. The first thing that came to my mind.
