  • Here is how record companies have treated their own precious assets: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Universal_Studios_fire

10s of thousands of original master recordings lost forever. They should fucking be paying archive.org for preserving these artists' works

*Edit: and of course Universal is one of the plaintiffs. I hate these fuckers so much

  • This is seriously deserving of an antitrust investigation. An open web is essential.

*Edit: referring to Chrome and its derivatives, not Adobe. Alphabet/Google has been begging for antitrust action for years.

  • I ran into one of his debates on crypto/NFTs a while back and he wasn't well-informed enough to adequately defend his own position or attack some of fundamental weaknesses of that ecosystem. Was not impressed.

  • It's just one of those topics you want to avoid unless you're making a specific point about it, for example how right-wing nutjobs now believe that literally anyone they don't like is a pedophile.

  • I did the Google. He apparently used child porn and pedophilia as rhetorical devices in arguments about other topics, which have then of course been taken out of context and weaponizsd by people who hate him.

It's a good example of why you shouldn't use certain topics to score debate points and why no one should be live on the internet for multiple hours a day.

  • Stop trying to make fetch happen with math.

X is stupid branding and Elon Musk is a stupid, shallow dipshit who should not be allowed to have anywhere near the amount of money and power he possesses.

  • Hey, look on the bright side. You've also involuntarily entered eternal indentured servitude in order to pay interest on your student loan debt so that the federal government can make money off of your daring gambit to pursue higher education.

No, I'm not bitter, why do you ask?

  • We already have that without adding a completely useless layer of complexity. You've been able to look up property records online for decades. NFTs would add zero value to that system, and as you've correctly pointed out, have serious dowsides including lost, hacked, or stolen tokens.
