  • I don't mean to shit on anyone who would rather use an open source decentralized platform over privately owned Reddit, but Lemmy.World is definitely the most obnoxious large instance, with a lot of people still holding over a lot of those reddit toxicity mannerisms. On top of that the admins/devs of that instance are always having major technical issues that they can't seem to overcome. Wish them the best though.

  • Anything that doesn't regurgitate my neoliberal colonialist viewpoint is Russian/Chinese propaganda!! Yes I am not biased or subject to propaganda, I just get my views from reddit world news. /s

  • I mean I'm surprised by the child porn part

  • I really don't think so. They literally had a scene where they were debriefing the scientists of the effect of the bomb and the types of wounds and deaths it caused. They could of just showed the slides they were going over there.

Still think it's a good movie, and for me this is a minor critique, but still something they could have done.

  • Haha almost exactly what I just said and it looks like you already said it. To me this just shows that the people working there right now actually have no idea what's going on, or at least the way the decision making structure is unable to hear any feedback from the technical team in charge of implementation. Like this is mobile app developer 101 stuff.

  • Just name it 'X App' problem solved. Anyone who has ever uploaded an app image to the app store should be well aware of the rules involved here and the Apple manual review process.

  • Sorry but Orthodox Christians don't really respect the Pope. It was the Pope that broke away from the church, and past Patriarchs have all stated that it is the Catholic church that will need to mend the rift for going against church doctrine, not the other way around.

Not that organized religion is good in any respect, but just trying to give the Orthodox perspective, and why they wouldn't actually care what the Pope says.

  • I know this is a Saddam meme but can we get a community for cool cross section postings

  • Then good thing when they developed the platform they didn't make it a legal requirement for you to make an account and browse only Lemmygrad.

  • I read Altruism as Autism, and honestly I think it should be added to the list.

  • You're telling me every technological innovation before 1750~ wasn't done purely for the sake of profits and shareholders?!? HOW WAS THAT ALLOWED!?

  • You can subscribe to subs that don't talk about it and unsubscribe from the ones that do.

There will be a lot of growing pains as communities take time to migrate over, discuss the drama, have new communities created, seeing over time which ones are moderated in ways you enjoy.

Tldr: take it easy, you and the communities will sort themselves out in time.

  • /r/politics is just DNC lib screeching and astroturfing. Nothing leftist about it. At least not since Sanders lost the primaries in 2016. That was the first major shift there.

  • Also that your karma/up votes don't accumulate. So people aren't Karma chasing.

  • You can't inventivize people to work to death if they have free housing and healthcare - some neoliberal probably

  • Because they believe what they are doing is right and just (even if you or I disagree). There are shit ton of Zionist fundamentalists in Israel, and the demographics are only getting worse, as the fundamentalists are having more children then the more liberal and progressive Israelites.

  • Just because you have a frothing hatred of China doesn't mean everyone does. It seems totally reasonable to compare the US (the world superpower) to the up and coming main competitor.
