Today I thought it was Monday when I woke up. Realizing it's actually Wednesday was like skipping two days (of existence) for free!

Stupid as it sounds, this seems to be the case. It works great now (+ extra smooth because of all the settings lowering :D ). I even rebooted yesterday to no avail. Today I haven't done anything special with the machine.

How often has this happened to you?

Ohh yeah I have a mouse like that. The reason being just that I don't want to deal with mouse control software ^^

I'll try to fiddle around a bit.

Also, did vulkan shaders run and complete? Mine don’t on Enshrouded, get stuck at 99%. I know that can have a performance impact.

I should think so. The dialogue doesn't seem to appear anymore but on the first launch of today it did, and I don't remember anything special about it.

Mildly interesting observation: Having the game open in the background made browser scrolling very sluggish.

And other smaller things tend to misbehave as well. For this reason I always upgrade right before shutting down my machnine anyway.

An unintended side-effect of this is that I tend to postpone upgrades because I'm just about to leave somewhere and wouldn't have to deal with any manual interventions.

The only use case for Appimages
If users want to carry applications around on a thumbdrive, or run on a fully immutable system like TAILS, Appimages may be needed. But this is the only target, and it is not a standard use case.

I guess I agree. This is precisely the case where I have ever used them. Namely to have a portable executable of my password manager on a stick together with a backup of the password database.

Luckily not! There's LiberaPay, which I find preferable to OpenCollective anyway. No confusion with hosts and it's clearly non-profit.
