  • The other one was very very underpowered so I threw CasaOS onto it

How did you get past the website? It's bloody awful :o

Joking aside though, I hadn't heard of CasaOS, so I just did a quick search. That website is awful on mobile. I swiped up, assuming that there was more than just the live demo link, but nothing happened for a while. Then, loads of content popped up at once and scrolled past >.<

I've sent it to myself to check out on the computer. Hopefully, if it does what it claims, it could resurrect an old laptop :)

  • You shouldn't be asked for an account if you click the magnet button either. You might want to double check that you are on the right site.

  • Have you tried dual booting, and trying to switch?

I set up a dual boot with Windows 10 and Mint on my PC. I found that I was sticking with Windows because it was what I knew, but then an update broke the Windows boot files.

The usual repairs didn't work, so I started using Mint full time while I was looking for solutions that didn't just want me to reinstall. I realised after the first few days that I wasn't missing much from Windows, and it was just the Windows only software like Photoshop that was holding me back. I'm looking into switching the last few things over now so that I can go to Mint full time 👍

  • You do realise that you're saying that piracy didn't work for you, so you went out and spent your money instead, yeah?

  • That's the first realistic generator I'd heard of too. I think it only does headshots though, so would have had to be used with something else for the body shot described.

  • You don't say whether you boot from the HDD or have a separate SSD for booting. If you boot from the HDD, then an SSD is a must. The speed increase for everything is incredible.

If you just use the HDD for storage, I would still upgrade. I've got a 3TB HDD and a 1TB SSD for storage, and the difference in speed between them is huge. The HDD can slow my whole system down when it's being thrashed, while the SSD transfers files faster without slowing anything down.

It's honestly a no brainer as long as you can afford the size you need 👍

  • That could be amazing for Halloween :D

  • You might never find another photo. There are websites and apps now that can generate a very realistic photo of someone who doesn't exist.

  • Out of curiosity, have you ever tried that combo?

I haven't, but it sounds like it could be a good mix of sweet and savoury, depending on how sweet the bun is :)

  • I wouldn't risk it in anything expensive. Get a card reader that leaves the micro SD sticking out a bit, and try accessing it with that. At least then if it jams, it's only the cheap reader that you've lost.

  • A foldable flip phone would be much better than most of the book type foldables that seem to be the trend :)

  • While the person you're replying to seems to be trolling, there is a legitimate argument that the BBC is influenced by the current government. The argument is that the current government has had a hand in appointing the current BBC director, and he's a member of the Conservative party or a donor.

I haven't looked into it for a while, so am not up to speed on the details, but if the detractors are correct, it's not a good look for the BBC.

  • The humour in the first season can be a bit forced, and it can feel like they're stopping the show for the scheduled joke, but it's worth sticking with 👍

  • The Spinward Fringe series by Randolph Lalonde is very good. The first book is free too, so that's a plus 👍

  • I'm still trying them out, but if they work as advertised, then AppImages. That's mostly because I use my desktop and laptop pretty much equally, so being able to copy and AppImage from one to the other and keep going would be really handy.

On a similar note, if a computer dies, being able to just copy and paste them to a new computer, or run them from a portable drive would be great.

  • Try resetting the Transmission settings to default, turning off your VPN, and downloading a Linux ISO. If the problem stays, it's possibly a hardware issue. If the problem goes away, turn the VPN on and try again. If the problem returns, the VPN is the issue.

I know you said you've tried other clients, but try them with the VPN disabled too, in case Transmission is the problem.

    Good luck 👍

  • Thank you :)

I might be a bit slow replying. It's already late here, and I'm going out during the day tomorrow 👍

  • If you're taking any other meds, speak to a doctor before you try it.

I have a chronic illness that led to organ transplantation, and cannabis would interfere with one of my rejection meds. That would have caused me much bigger problems than the pain that I was trying to stop.

Unfortunately, cannabis has an almost cult like mythology around it. There are lots of people who will tell you that it cures everything, from mild pain to every type of cancer, and will even clean and polish your car 😉

I hope you find what you need. Good luck 🙂

  • Thank you, I didn't think to swipe :)
