I'm a fan of mindfulness and gratitude practice. Also, physical exercise! Nothing like working up a good sweat when I'm mad at myself to feel better after.
It sounds that we are on the same page, in that it should not be difficult to vote. Logically it follows that introducing barriers to voting is wrong.
As for the financial piece- all I will say is that circumstances change. $50 dollars may not be much to you (or it may not have been much at the time of the initial name change), but it could mean the choice is between being able to vote or being able to eat.
Friend, I don't think anyone is arguing that it's impossible. The problem is that there's an additional burden (financial and administrative- have you ever changed your name? It's a nightmare.) being targeted at mainly women with a side benefit to the Republicans of affecting trans folks.
Do you see how that is inequitable access to voting?
Where I'm at, family can supercede a DNR. The rate of OHCA survival is so low anyway that it usually doesn't make a difference. Emotions are so high and so raw, even when it's an expected death, that I don't blame anyone for anything done or said at that time. It's been rare that I've seen it done- the most common reason for not following a DNR is that no one can find it. Second most is it was filled out incorrectly or not the actual official document.
You're not wrong. The parents chose not to vaccinate, and vaccines almost certainly would have prevented this outcome. Where I'm struggling is the "serves them right" attitude when it wasn't the parents who paid for their mistake- it was a small child with no say in the matter. It's possible to feel anger towards the parents (though it doesn't change anything at this point) and still have empathy for the actual victim.
Hayao Miyazaki's art style specifically has so much life injected into it, that you would have to be incredibly specific to even approach his style.
There's an instance that stands out in Spirited Away, when Chihiro is putting on her shoes, she taps the toes of one foot against the ground to set it on correctly. A miniscule detail, but one that makes her feel more real. You'd need such an elaborate prompt to make that happen via AI, but thats the kind of detail that he includes in his movies. To him, the thought of having "someone" illustrate that who has never put their shoe on incorrectly and had to fix it is beyond inauthentic. That's my take. Less about the worry of technology taking over, and more about the technology not understanding the language it's being taught, because it can't.
I understand that many people have an incorrect understanding of DEI (and at times have had experience with it being incorrectly applied). I was actually hoping to learn where this particular person learned their viewpoint to have a conversation.
