  • Been using Memmy and it’s pretty nice so far.

  • I would love a way to see all the communities on an instance!

  • Overall I’m really enjoying at as well! I would love to see:

A way to see an instance and all the communities is has available. I can see lots of other instances on the “all” view, but I can only get to individual communities on those instances. Would love some sort of broader view. I’m new to Lemmy and still discovering new instances and communities and I think that would be a cool feature to help that process.

A way to block an entire instance (not one that my instance is defederated from) and not just individual communities. For example, communities from a German-language instance keep popping up, and I don’t read German. I would love to be able to block the whole instance instead of just one community at a time.

For the up/down vote icons to match what is actually available on a post. For instance, beehaw.org does not allow downvotes, so it would be cool if that icon didn’t show up for posts on that instance. Makes it easier to see if you can up/down or both on each post.

Just my thoughts. Big thanks to everyone working on this app, pretty cool so far!

  • I’ve noticed myself completing books I would usually DNF when I’ve participated in more formal reading challenges before. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of finding another book that fit the prompt so I just stuck with them.

  • This is super cute! What an amazing gift!

  • I joined my first book club this year. It’s been interesting; so far the books haven’t been totally to my taste, but at least I’m trying new things that way. And the discussion has been fun! I think our most fun discussion was for a book that we all ending up not liking, actually!

  • I would want to know how famous the murder/suicide was, which sounds super weird. But I wouldn’t want true crime junkies driving by my house to gawk at it if it was scene of a case that got a lot of publicity. Like the Amityville horror house, or something like that. But otherwise I don’t think it would bother me.

  • Since I’m seeing Libby mentioned a lot: for those in the US, check the libraries in the large cities in your state, too. Sometimes they have digital-only cards available for statewide residents. You can have several library cards on Libby so you have lots of options!

Also check your area for Little Free Libraries, which are free “take a book, leave a book” boxes!
