  • In France and other countries around speaking French, college is middle school. 11-15y old something like that.

According to Wikipedia, in most countries it's high-school or secondary education.

In the US and maybe other it seems to be a synonym of university.

  • What is college? Is it employed for middle school or high school? If so then no.

And if someone who didn't get such eduction thinks they have the tool to distinguish between false and true, they are delusional. The more verified knowledge someone has, the more that person develops their ability to manage information and find if it's bad or good. Tho that doesn't mean that everyone has equal training or capacity in doing so.

If college is employed as a synonym of university, then kinda yes? Tho for myself I wasn't really trained into getting the right sources. However the knowledge gained from the years of eduction allowed me to somehow manage a bit the informations.

However, I don't think I would have been able to really avoid bad information without getting the university training, where I also learned sources and reputable sources.

Even now it can be sometimes hard to get a good source to check. And often for random info I'll forget on the Web I don't even bother.

  • I can partially confirm this.

The hdd is too slow for recent games. Tho older games do work fine on it.

Recent games, mostly AAA ones have a lof of texture streaming with hevy textures. So they wouldn't be able to load them in time and either generate lag or missing textures.

Older games, even AAA, designed for ps4/xbox one generation don't seem to need as much drive speed.

For file verification, maybe, tho it wouldn't bother me much if I didn't have space on an nvme drive.

  • Last time I used adguard, they seemed to want to get money from user donations. By having more users, more users would donate, and there would be a point where there would be enough.

Tho I'm not sure if they have reached such point or if they would reach it in the future.

  • For me, Nextdns. It's mostly because I can choose which list is used by the dns blocking. If adguard has a lost blocking what I use, I can't do anything about it. Or maybe like allow a lot of domains.

Using the Hagezi pro++ list currently and it works damn well without any issues for me.

Also, there is a free way to use it (not sure about adguard).

  • Finished some time ago afterimage. Pretty good metroidvania. I liked it despite some negative comments, I did not find many of the issues described, or very little of it. Tho I used a map to find my way around collectables.

Recently finished hogwarts Legacy. It's pretty good too, but it's cursed with bugs and not sure if it's abandoned by the dav as there wasn't any update in 5 months. Tho most of the game is fine without game breaking bugs or too visible.

I started yesterday GRIME. Another metroidvania. For now it's a bit soon to have a real opinion, but it's OK.

  • Yeah, just got there as I am doing things in the meantime.

Would the IP address and search results be able to be put back together? Wouldn't a lot of IP Adresses be sent at the same time reducing the possibility of linking an ip address to a search result?

  • Any sources please?

    I have this https://ecosia.helpscoutdocs.com/article/377-ip-addresses

When communicating your searches to Bing to provide you with results, we never communicate your IP address together with your search queries.

    And this : https://www.ecosia.org/privacy

For example, when searching for “tree” on Ecosia we forward the following information to our partner, Bing: IP address (to a separate fraud detection server, so your search term and IP address are never sent to the same server), meta-data on your device that is necessary for the result like screen size, search term, and some settings like your country and language setting.

If you choose to enable “personalised search”, Ecosia sets a Bing-specific “customer ID” parameter to improve the quality of your search results. You can also choose to enable this feature by modifying your user settings.

The search request and IP are sent to separate servers and with different goals.

Mot likely the IP is sent to Bing to detect if it's bot. That way Ecosia can know when to send a captcha.

And the search request is sent by Ecosia without the IP or identifying informations.

  • I use Ecosia, because plant trees.

It's good enough and private enough (when the do not track is enabled).

It uses Bing for it's results. Tho it has a heavy incline toward articles instead of forums when searching for an issue. Unless specified in the search.

  • Using emoji is a bad idea.

Here is why (without a password manager which removes the hard, but not the incompatible) :

    • some emojis can be inexistent on other devices. So you may not be able to log in on another device.
    • An emoji is hard to remember if you need to type them with an alt code, while also being easy to crack.
    • For a computer, and emoji is nothing else than a character. So hard to type, easy to crack.
    • More likely you use an emoji someone else used. So it could maybe be easier to crack.

And you don't need to believe me https://nordpass.com/blog/emoji-passwords/

  • Scratching maybe, not sure.

But I saw an issue that the darker ones reacted in a more visible way with skin oil. And the phone was loosing color around the buttons or where people grip it.

The solution from apple is buy the new case to protect it, or wipe it frequently.

The new woven case is trash and gets nasty very fast.

  • For me it's not the short video format only.

Each time I installed TikTok (for whatever reason or event on a specific channel), I was met with a cringefest on the home screen. So bad I didn't even want to look further.

Also the app is a privacy nightmare and most like still is a phone spy, taking whatever is in the accessible phone memory and sending it.

Also due to the platform design, fake information looking as "real" and sensational is more pushed. So how would someone know it's fake, I don't know. Just reputable channels coming from. YouTube or whatever would be good enough.

  • For people not knowing French, the Nvidia offices were not raided by heavily armed forces, with guns or whatever shooting.

"Perquisition" is just some cops/people coming and getting into your stuff or taking it for analysis. It's like a search in Nvidia's stuff/software/internal communications. It required a warrant given by a judge.
