It's a real issue and actions needs to be taken to prevent the worst case scenario but I find it not useful when people extraggerate the dangers of it. It makes people suspicious about what other things we're being misled about.

What animal specie is the peak if not humans? Not saying humans are anywhere near the far end of the intelligence spectrum but as far as we know we're still the most intelligent and special thing in the universe.

What are you basing the existential threat claim on? I don't think I've heard a credible scientist ever claim it's going to end our specie. The yearly excess deaths estimates I've heard vary from few hundred thousand to couple million a year in 2050 - 2100.

Do you honestly think people are staying on twitter because they want to hang with Musk? Are you on Lemmy because you want to hang with tankies?

No. You're not mandated to listen me ramble about free will, artificial intelligence or simulation theory and I'm not mandated to listen your thoughts about the weather or see pictures of your child.

Conversation is a two way road so when you notice that it's only flowing to one direction then take the hint and move on.

My trick is earbuds. Even if I'm not listening to anything. Also helps to be living in a country where you're not generally supposed to go talk to strangers
