    • I monitor my personal finances carefully and try living well below my means
    • I have effectively no social media presence
    • I do childish things when out in the woods by myself such as play with puddles, make streams and larp a soldier with my outfits / gear
    • My wardrobe is a bunch of near identical clothes. I basically wear the same thing every day. When I need a clean shirt I grab the one from the top of the pile.
    • I eat once in the morning and again around 10pm. I also skip dinner a few times a week because I can't be bothered to cook
    • I leave most of my lawn uncut. From the street my house looks abandoned.
    • I carry a folding knife with me always
    • I intentionally avoid trends
    • I don't lie, not even white lies. I might not speak the whole truth but I never say something that's untrue.
  • My possibly unpopular opinion is that just using water is probably more than sufficient unless you've been handling something that has visibly stained your hands. Some level of "dirt" on your hands is probably better for your immune system than perfectly clean ones. I've never been much of a hand washer myself. I use my hands a lot, I touch everything, I don't wear gloves at work and I bite my nails. Yesterday I pulled carrots from the ground and rubbed worst of the soil away onto grass and ate them like that. I can't help but feel that behavior like this is to thank for the fact that I'm never sick and I have zero allergies or food intolerances.

  • I've been experiencing a ton of buffering issues lately trying to use YouTube with uBlock Origin. I'm pretty much on the brink of subscribing myself too. It's by far the most valuable online platform for me and I've used it for free well over a decade. It was a good run and I'm not even mad.

  • Traffic is not really the place to be kind. Just don't be a dick and drive predictably and by the rules. Doing stuff like waving someone to go first when you have the right of way is dangerous and confusing.

That being said, one type of act of kindness that comes to mind is a semi using their blinker to indicate when it's safe to overtake as I couldn't see in front of them.

  • Ukraine struggles to repel the constant attacks on the eastern front so by attacking Russia in the north, it forces them to move troops from elsewhere thus making them to stop the attacks due to lack of manpower and go on defence instead. This eases the pressure on the Ukrainian defenders.

This newly acquired land is also something they can use to trade back parts of their own land if and when the peace negotitations start.

It also further diminishes the credibility of the Russian army and leadership.

  • That's a bit cynical take. In many countries, including mine, there are dedicate bins for plastic waste which is the majority of waste from your typical household. It's all being recycled into new products, not being shipped anywhere. Also, when it comes to plastic bottles for example, close to 100% of them are returned and recycled into new bottles. I've got a tiny-ass bin for the stuff that ends up in landfill because I separate and recycle it all as does most other people.

EDIT: Nevermind then. It's all apparently dumped into the ocean. Sorry about the attempt in some positivity.

  • I actually have quite the list of words that if I see someone using on social media I block them immediately. Cuck is just one of them. The only two reasons to use it is to either to discuss cuckolding fetish (which is fine) or to demonstrate what an asshole you are.

  • Lack of self-discipline is not doing what you know needs to be done and giving yourself excuses as to why this isn't your fault but solely due to external reasons. It's not taking personal responsibility and instead blaming the world for your issues. I can never afford a home because of capitalism. I can't work out because of bad knees. I can't get a girlfriend because I'm ugly.

If a person with no job or friends spends all their time inside smoking weed, playing video games, jerking off and then justifying this complete lack of function by telling themselves a story about how their mind is broken and there's nothing they can do about it then I'd claim that more often than not there other reasons for that than just them having ADHD. I know because I'm that person.

At no point have I said ADHD doesn't play a role in it but it's always a combination of several factors of which some they have more control over than others.

  • I never claimed some people don't have it harder than others. It's a spectrum and a large number of people are not in the far end of it. Those are the people I'm talking about. Would it be easier if they didn't have this condition? Ofcourse it would. That however still doesn't mean that personal agency doesn't have a role in it. There are several reasons for why people struggle with getting things done and in the vast majority of cases having ADHD is just one of the contributing factors. It's an explanation, not an excuse.

  • My point wasn't that they're faking it. What I'm saying is that a large number of people with an actual diagnosis are still treating it as an excuse. It's an explanation for why things are as they are. It's not a permission to throw in the towel and stop trying to do the best they can do. It's a very small number of people with ADHD that actually have so severe case of it that they genuinely can't even take care of themselves.

Peer support is important but that's not what I'm often reading in the comments of these ADHD memes I see posted here. It's people telling other people that it's out of their control because that's what they're telling themselves too. ADHD might make things more difficult to them but the main reason they're not getting anything done is not ADHD but cynicism and lack of self-discipline.
